My documents have been lost by Allianz agents, my address was incorrect in their correspondence to me, I wrote, emailed and called 4 times to correct the address and the service reps all said they could not change the address. Yet today, the service rep said she could. I have been dealing with Allianz for 1.5 years. It would have been less if the address was correct. Still dealing with a December 22 YVR flight cancellation. I never flew anyway and the note on my file stated my flight was not delayed by 6 or more hours, so the claim is ineligible. I actually stopped using my RBC Visa card because when I travel I need insurance coverage. My correspondence has been awful, even though I have been using the "submit" email I was told to use. Frustrating, and do not recommend.
Doesn't deserve 1 star! What a horrible company! Please stay from away from them. They don't like to pay out, and give you every excuse for not honoring your claim. I purchased two tickets for an event, I was so looking forward to attending, and spent close to $400.00 for two tickets. Unfortunately, I had surgery and could not attend, so I put in a claim since I THOUGHT, I was protected, but they found every reason to postpone, and delay payment which I never received from them. THE AUDACITY! Then, to add insult to injury, maybe one person spoke proper English. WTH???? How do they hire people to deal with customers that you have to struggle to understand? I am not exaggerating. I could not understand a word they were saying, which only added more wood to the fire. Also, their customer service representatives become very nasty when you tell them, you do not understand them. Allianz should be ashamed of themselves, because they do not like to pay your claims.
My new Iphone got stolen in Capetown. When I agreed to my travel insurance with Allianz it stated the handling of a claim could take up to 25 working days. So, 28 days after my claim, I called them to ask for a status. I got told that because it's super busy, it now takes up to 30 days to review a claim.
After 33 days, I called them again. They said it could take up to 40 working days, and now, when I thought it couldn't get any worse. They told me it could take up to 50 working days.
Can't even imagine how long it will take them to handle a claim in the summer, 120 days?
Ok, I put a claim in for a friend. He got hurt on holidays. Nothing serious, but cost him a fair chunk of change. I never heard from this company one time. I submitted all papers and waited. If I had not kept calling in, I would still be waiting and papers would be missing. I called every week, talked to different people. I know you need to wait, but it would be nice to have them report something. Tell me they got all information. One guy told me I submitted the wrong medical/claim form, as it didn't have the name Allianz on the right top corner. I told them it did as I was looking at the form on my computer. He then says "Oh". I did give a 3-star rating as the people were friendly, got through quick and my friend got his money after 2 months. I am dissatisfied with the communication, though. The trick is call every week and be firm!
I had to cancel two Sphere tickets for my elderly mother and myself. My mother is 85 and decided she is not healthy enough physically or mentally to travel to Vegas. Tried to file a claim on Allianz website and it cannot find the policy despite pulling up the correct record using the policy number. Called to speak to a rep. and he agreed to file it for me but tells me that I have to have a doctor's note essentially as supporting documentation. The email I received after the claim was filed indicates that the tickets are only covered up to $200, when I paid $383. Such a scam.
Do not waste your time. This company is pathetic and does not care how your condition happened. They will find a way to deny your claim. Not worth the hassle. I’d be making a formal complaint.
We purchased cancelation insurance through West Jet for the specific reason my father has lung issues and he may not be able to fly. Of course after the purchase they send you the policy information that preexisting is not covered HAHA well a little late now don't you think so? So of course when we had to cancel because my father was put on oxygen to make matters worse we were denied this claim after paying the doctors for medical notes and waiting on hold for hours with these guys (I must add before purchasing the doctors notes I made Allianz aware that the claim was for my father who had a preexisting condition) for them to drag it out for 3 months. We will never ever use Allianz ever again and I will be spreading the word also communicating with West Jet that the company they partner with is a bunch of absolute crooks. I hope they sleep well considering the crap they put people through. Absolute joke.
Waiting 22 months and counting for a claim to be processed. No contact from the business for over a year. Three customer complaints raised, only one acknowledged. Claims department emailed me addressing correspondence to a different party, asking me for documents that did not exist. Slow to respond to ombudsman recommendation that they pay compensation, which eventually came. When email finally came 22 months later in March 2024 stating claim would be paid within 5-10 working days, they used incorrect bank sort code, thus not honouring the claim. Jury still out on whether they are grossly incompetent or fraudulent, but no other explanation is possible. The experience leads one to conclude that travel insurance is a waste of money. Avoid at all costs.
My claim under the Travel Insurance Premium Plan was rejected for invalid and unreasonable reasons. Luckily, I was insured by another better insurance company and got compensated.
I am using their motor insurance as well and they did not send me any renewal notice prior to the expiry date and my insurance coverage is broken as such.
Will not use this insurance company anymore!
Had medical emergency with doctor report to not travel, I sent them the documents they ask for.
They kept dismissing my claim and asking for more documents they didn’t ask before.
