I just concluded a fabulous conversation with represantative. He went out of his way to solve the insurance problem I was having. His assistance was thorough and creative. Better yet he was realistic and honest as he listened, and proposed solutions which he was able to follow through on the same day! At the same time he was easy to talk too and very supportive and caused me feel like an important, and valuable client and not just another client making demands. Thank you.
Other than a 40-minute wait on the phone to get through to them once, I had an overall good experience with them. A car backed into my car when I was parked, and the entire claim process went pretty smoothly. They gave me 4 options on where I can bring my car, I went with the best-looking place that had the best reviews. They got me a rental when I brought my car to the auto body shop. It took 3 days to fix my bumper and everything went smoothly. Overall, I have to say I had a pretty good experience dealing with Johnson. :-) Also, the accident was deemed that I wasn't at fault. I have seen all the bad reviews and figured I should share my experience with them since they were pretty good to me. I guess people only feel the need to share their bad experiences and not the good ones. I'd recommend this insurance company to friends or family.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I have read posted reviews and hope I have made right decision to move my policy to Johnson / Unifund Assurance from 10+ years at TD Security National. In the arduous decision-making process, I obtained numerous quotes from various providers. Not all quotes are created equal (e.g. deductible amount, $1M vs $2M liability, etc) and like most things in life, you get what you pay for. I did not base my decision on lowest rates (which they were not but they were among the lower ones) more about transparency about policy coverage and experience with the service on the phone. I called Johnson three times to get further clarification as I learned about premium options and narrowed down my choices. I was able to contact the rep, Sandi D., easily each time and she was the only sales rep out of the 7 companies that I called who (without prompting from me) actually took the time to break down the policy in detail and explain each of the premium inclusions and options. Make sure you know these before you just go with the "cheapest" quote. Lowballing rates could indicate the company would be lowballing you on claims. My quoted rate and coverage seemed excellent, as I benefitted from one of their professional group rates. I also asked for quote with secondary driver as my daughter is planning to obtain G2 in near future and Johnson rate for this was excellent and they also offered temp lower rate if child away at school (not all companies do this and check on distance requirements). I also inquired about conditions for future rate increases in case their quote was a "loss leader" to get you "in the door" as I do not plan on being an insurance hopper each year. I even tried calling claims line to see how easily I could get through, as reps from Sales dept. who are hired to get your business, are not the tel no or people you will ever call afterwards. Though one hopes they would never have to make a claim, satisfaction with an insurance provider is best measured in the client's experience with service during claims process. And if disgruntled, that's when you usually hear from customers on sites like these as most people only post review if unsatisfied. Though I hope I don't have to ever make a claim, if i do, I will revisit this site to see if my decision to bring my business to Johnson and give a great rating to start is warranted. The proof will be in the "claims" pudding and I hope I don't have to eat my words and regret this decision.
The true measure of an insurance company is how well the claims process goes. My daughter had 3 vehicle accidents in the space of one and half years and each claim was handled smoothly. A rental vehicle was arranged for me right away and my vehicle repaired/paid out within one to three months. I thought my premiums would sky rocket (because 2 or the 3 accidents were at fault) but they went up by a small amount. I'll be with Johnson for a while. I rather have confidence in a claim been paid out than jump from insurer to insurer looking for a 'deal' on premiums.
My wife and I have held home and auto insurance with Johnson Insurance (Unifund) for 10+ years. In that time we've had three auto claims for two not-at-fault accidents and one windshield repair. Each time a claim was necessary, the service was excellent. Our rates increased minimally three years ago and, since then, have decreased by $6, $100 and $210 respectively.
Our policies renew next month and I am shopping around for rates elsewhere. Only one company has been able to beat Johnson's rates with similar coverage. Despite my 10+ happy years, I may switch to save money (i.e. 40%).
I had a total loss claim for which I was deemed at fault. From my initial call, to the subsequent four adjusters I spoke to, all but one were wonderful. I was able to get ahold of all adjusters (except the one) immediately, and they were quite pleasant, considering the circumstances. I am still working through the injury/liability parts of the accident, but in terms of the car replacement - the no-charge "depreciation add-back" meant that I got the full value of the car that we paid almost a full year ago - and it was less than 2 weeks from the day of the accident to the day my claim cheque arrived, during which time the rental car was paid for. Impressive.
My one concern is that I was given a ticket (although the officer advised me to fight it, which I am), so we will see how that affects my insurance on renewal - although my accident forgiveness was intact, so I won't be dinged for the accident itself.
Overall, they're a bit more expensive than some other places (but not many), but they're very worth it. I'll be recommending them to everyone I know that needs insurance.
I had a minor car accident, where I was at fault. The insurance company was very helpful, and the other party was compensated without any issues. After car repairs, it was easy to re-insure the car with the same provider. My premium was not raised after the accident. It was very easy to add a second driver, and no additional premium was required. I should add that I drive a late model car with a low market value.
The one thing that separates them from other insurers is their customer satisfaction. They treat their clients in the best way possible.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My claim was handled very quickly in a non-judgmental way. The impact on my future premiums was carefully explained and to my complete satisfaction.
Everyone I spoke with today was professional, and very helpful! They took the time to explain everything in detail, so I understood. Thank you guys again.
