Canada Life owes me $500 from claims I direct billed last week and that they accepted. The usual timeline for payments is approximately 2 days. It has now been 8 days. I am a sole proprietor and cannot float this debt. I have have been on hold several times this week for long durations but had to hang up because I have to work. I have communicated with my clients that until Canada Life fixes their "technical difficulty" I they will have to use some other method of payment.
July 23rd and still cannot get someone to answer the phone, or leave a message or wait on the phone for the next available. They simply say "cannot answer please call later" and their phone is always busy.
2 or 3 days trying to get help from Canada Life is impossible. This is unacceptable.
First, we don't know which option to take on the phone, we then wait one hour and then, we finally talk to someone and it was the wrong option taken so they redirect us, another hour of wait and then finally someone answered and because she was working from home, call quality was bad she had to hand off and we had to redo the whole process again, only to talk to one person...
Seems to be a consensus in the reviews that Canada Life is not interested in any form of customer service. As others have stated, I have made 3 unsuccessful attempts to reach them by phone with over 1 hour wait time before the line auto disconnects.
This was not the case with Great-West Life. Another example of amalgamation equals garbage quality for the customer. I bet the executives are still patting themselves on the back over the savings when they canned all those unrequired service agents. Can you say bonuses for the privileged!
So when the normal medical expenses and dispensing fees are mysteriously no longer covered, good luck reaching out to anyone for an answer. More money is well wasted if you are paying for coverage with this typical garbage of the industry.

They simply wont pick up the phone, I called 3 times, waited over an hour each time.
As bad as it gets.
