The TD My Advantage App is a hoax.

During our pandemic I was hospitalized with Covid. While in there I had missed two payments so now they have canceled my insurance. Even after I explained I was hospitalized they still cancelled my insurance unless if I come up with the full amount. I have been with this company for about 20 years and I never had a problem with making payments. And then Covid-19 hits. I have never been refused insurance nor have I ever had my insurance cancelled.
Although rates are great, freaking wait times have become INSANE. I've on hold since 9:01 am this morning. It's currently 12:45! that's 3h 44min! Still waiting. This is to GIVE them MORE money as I need to add a car to my policy. Tried yesterday twice. Once for about 45 mins, then for 2h 15min. Seriously thinking of getting this car insured ANYWHERE else. Hire more agents!
Tried to do an online quote, the system froze up. Fine. Call in. Spend 30 minutes on the phone with a very nice lady who processes the majority of the quote but can't complete it due to me not having my wife drivers license number. Fair enough. Told I can call back in, provide my phone number and re-access the quote, add the missing info and be on our way. This is where the fun starts. I told I can not process the claim without my wife's consent, (wasn't an issue the day before). Get her on the phone, get the consent taken care of and continue processing the claim with her info. Things are going fine when the gentlemen helping me suddenly has computer issues, apologizes profusely and transfers me to a colleague. Complete and utter disaster from there. The woman begins processing the whole thing again including wanting the authorization from my wife. I explain the situation, after 10 minutes on hold she comes back to tell me yup it is fine. I would've been faster calling my wife back. She then proceeds to re-enter or re-confirm all the information that was entered the day previously and by the first guy. I repeatedly ask why this needs to be done and continually get provided a non-sensical answer. She then claims she is again having a problem with their system and can't confirm some of the claims information provided. Been on hold for an additional 20 minutes now. So far day 2 phone call is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Plus the initial 30 minutes and whatever is still to come this process will be over 2 hours. FOR. A. QUOTE. Only reason I'm even still tolerating them is because the initial amount provided (without my wife's info) was substantially less than anywhere else.
The worst customer service experience ever! Every time I called I had to wait 2 hours. The agents always hung up the line and I always had to call back and wait the 2-hour queue. So unreliable. I had a claim issue. They never kept me posted with the claim.
We have five (5) policies with this company and our only complaint so far is that we cannot reach them at any of the numerous phone numbers provided. The phone calls are dropped after waiting 1/2 hour and/or the wait time is one, two or more hours, every time we call. They do not offer a call back service. I hope we never have to make a claim. I am very disappointed with the service, and I am actively looking for a new provider as I type this review.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
This is unbelievable. I have wasted almost 5 hours waiting to reach someone from customer service to modify my policy which unfortunately cannot be changed online if I want the changes to be effective immediately.
If TD Insurance is unable to offer reasonable waiting times on their phone lines, then they should create a website that can serve its customers better.
Looking to switch to a different insurance company. This is just too frustrating.
Waited 2 hours on 3 different days with no result. Just wanted to add home and a car to my existing policy so I tried both home and auto lines and I got the same thing
Called them at 6 pm, waited on hold until 8 pm. Their website says they close at 8 pm, so... I guess I should hang up now? The next day, called at 11 am. While I was on hold I had time to do the paperwork for a new car, go get a bank transfer, buy and eat lunch, go back to the dealer and wait. The salesman says he really likes his insurance company, so I drive over there (all while still on hold!) and I have time to get a new insurance policy for my new car. After 3 hours on hold, the call dropped, which was probably my cell phone provider. Today, I've called first thing and here I am writing a review while on hold. All I want is to just cancel all my insurance now, but I can't get a hold of anyone. Just insane. This hold music haunts my dreams.
Depuis vendredi impossible de joindre le service à la clientèle. Après plusieurs heures d'attente j'ai essayé de passer par le site web mais même la ça ne fonctionne pas bien je ne peux toujours pas utiliser mon nouveau véhicule

I've had my car insured with TD Insurance Meloche Monnex for 3 years and I'm just renewing for the 4th year. My premiums have been increasing by almost 10% per year. After the 2nd year they convinced me to download the TD My Advantage App on my cellphone which tracks my driving qualities and gives a score which can result in a discount of up to 25% on my premium. At the end of the 3rd year I had a score of 92 and a projected discount of 24%. When my policy renewal arrived in the mail, my premium increased by 8%. I called them and argued with the agent as well as his supervisor about where is my 24% discount. They said that the discount was already applied. They're saying that my premium increased by 42% and with the 24% discount I end up with an 8% increase.
This is all baloney. None of these calculations are provided on paper. If they were serious, all this would be shown on the policy renewal. It's a fraud.
