Dealing with Intact both personally and professionally

My daughter’s car was stolen from her driveway. Her husband reported to their Broker, Erion Insurance. Erion reported the claim immediately to Intact. Five days later Intact contacted my daughter. The car was found. Inside the car, a bong was found. The car reeked of marijuana. Intact paid for a loaner vehicle until the vehicle had safety done and was cleaned. My son-in-law picked it up and it still reeked of marijuana. The garage said that they weren’t given enough money to pay for shampoo. Now the car is back at the garage. The Broker has emailed countless times and telephoned the Intact adjuster without any reply. The Broker has tried to give good service but the Insurer has provided terrible service to their Broker and to their Insured.
I am a retired Insurance Broker who represented Intact for more than 20 years. I am extremely disappointed in the service or lack of service that Intact is providing.
I was hit but a person insured under intact and the adjustor worked in the BC office. The person lied multiple times to try to get 50/50 on the claim the adjustor went along with it and she was pushing for 50/50 and tried to get me to take it with multiple calls even from other agents. Finally, about a year later they accepted 100 %. I hope the adjustor trying to get a bonus and accepting lies she sleeps well at night and if it is Intact pushing for less payout or not accepting full responsibility well, they got 2 stars in Alberta so the service and wrongdoing speech for themselves

Intact has consumed my time in tricky ways.
I had an accident.
They played psychic games too much and finally, they denied everything.
I did not like my experience with them.
They also did not cancel my insurance after the accident till I sold the car totally.
Intact Insurance is cheap because it is a total scam system.
I am very sad to choose them because of their advertisements and the broker's wrong recommendation.
They are very rude and they know how to use psychic approaches to shut you down.
In fact, their system is like a toxic snake system and instead of helping you. They will hurt you much more than the accident.
Just avoid...
I send them that I don’t want to renew with them. They send me a notice one month later, they said: "they didn’t receive my payment". I contacted my insurance broker ( because we can’t deal directly with Intact), they said I should advise by phone my broker. (that s not true) and they ask me for new insurance proof or I have to pay... I said it is not your business what is my new insurance company. I send them a legal letter, then, they cancelled my insurance. Also, I was with them since 2013 and we never claimed anything buy they increased my insurance between 10-15% every year. Avoid this company!
Never NEVER use this insurance company! My Mom had a small accident 4 weeks ago in Parry Sound. Yep, 4 weeks of trying to get the adjuster to call back. First, the car was towed to wreckers, then without my Mom's consent was taken to Orillia for some unknown reason. Eventually, it was brought back to a reliable auto body shop here in Parry Sound, who cared more for my Mom than Intact did. The shop called Mom today to tell her the car would be scrapped...Intact's decision. Once again Mom called the insurance company and ONCE again was told the adjustor was not available. They then told her she would call back tomorrow, which we feel is another lie. Short of seeing a lawyer we really don't know what to do at this point. I am sure he could hear my potty mouth in the background and will hear it straight up when I am the advocator that will be calling them tomorrow. Take advantage of my senior Mom....nope not happening!

Negatives though, I call them about 4 times a week professionally. A mix of adjusters extensions and calling the on-hold wait line.
The adjusters have never responded to a single email I've sent. So that is in the dozens to a hundred or so just this month. I've had one adjuster call me back from a VMail I left among dozens or hundreds as well.
Sadly the best option is the adjuster's extension, however, their pick-up rate vs. answering machine is approximately 1/12 or so attempts. Whereas the on-hold line takes up so much time it is prohibitive. I am presently on hold, hold began at 1:35 pm and it is now 3:50 pm while I'm writing this. So the holds are usually around 2 hours, and this is the worst yet at well over 2 hours so far and still waiting. The only reason I'm on hold is that I absolutely need to speak with someone and this is day 8 without getting through to anyone, which is unusual, but also awful.
1 star or less forever. I'd easily be giving this a 3 start without any improvements if they simply added a CALL BACK OPTION as many others have. Then it wouldn't be prohibitive to call the hold line since I could continue with my other business. Being unable to use my phone these past 2.5 hours is costing not only time but money in a very obvious way. I'm missing out on business.
I'll be dealing with Intact less in the future business-wise after writing this and realizing the clear abusive nature of our relationship. So now this is affecting their business and not just mine. I'll be dropping my personal policy with them tomorrow as of this writing.
TLDR: They're too big to care about their terrible customer service as well as being in the past on technology available for over a decade. Avoid them.
