AVOID AT ALL COST

1 out of 5 stars
Consistently on hold 3 hours, (or give up and try the next day) to get through to someone. Once through everything is fine. Obviously understaffed to increase profit while demonstrating how little they value there customer's time and if you do get through you can only make 1 change per day. So if you try to remove a car that you sold and insure your new car you out of luck. Try again tomorrow and give them another 3 hours of your life.
I called to get a quote I'm still on hold... It's been 1h 55 min! Can you imagine if you need to get hold of them in an emergency!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I wish I could give them less than 1 star. I have a car that I need to add to my policy, but I've been on hold for over an hour for the last three days. I don't think they have any advisors and have gone out of business. I'm also looking for house insurance so as soon as the insurance broker that I contacted me for that calls me back, I'll be finding a new company for car insurance as well. Bye-bye TD.
Long waiting hours. Uneducated customer representatives. They don’t know how to talk to a customer. I waited for an hour and I was talking very gently to him but all of a sudden he hanged up on me without even completing my request. Disappointed.
Over two hours on hold with them prior to COVID. Since then I had to call them twice to cancel my insurance with them I've spent 7 hours on hold with them in the last week just trying to get my last month's payment out of them. By the way, even if the customer service representative won't cancel your insurance for you when you call they won't give you your last month/deposit back they charge you the exact amount of money to cancel. When you buy your insurance with them they say you going to pay the first and last month's insurance payment but that's not the truth. They actually charged me $260 upfront and my insurance was quoted at $117. I was supposed to get half of that back but they just do what insurance companies are good at the lie and lie some more to take your money and when you have a claim they will do everything in there power not to pay you. Also, they didn't even call me to spike my insurance premium they just took money out of my bank account without my permission!!! Also, they will not communicate with you via email so you have to spend a ton of time on the phone just waiting to talk to a person that really only seems to be interested in taking your money! Because of my experience with this company, I will never even consider using TD bank for anything not even for a mortgage. They have lost a customer for life. There are cheaper better rates out there too. With better companies. I save $40 a month by switching with the same coverage!
Good luck getting to talk to anyone. When finally manage to, the line drops. Multiple times. If you live in Alberta and call them, they need to transfer you to a representative in AB (no direct # to call for Alberta) = another hour waiting.
Requested callback function but when the phone rang, TD automated message said technical difficulties. Then tried waiting on hold instead, had to wait 95+ minutes. Terrible service. Also took a long time to get a quote on the claim amount.
For any change in service of auto insurance, you have to hold the call for one and a half hours.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had another insurance for 6 years, but a year ago I got a good rate on Auto Insurance from TD Bank. So I signed up for both home and auto insurance with them. Being a single person and driver with 19+ driving history and no claims or tickets in 19 years, and with 887/900 credit score, I consider myself a good customer. To my dismay, I received renewal documents from TD insurance a week (!) before the renewal date and with a $500/year increase in premium. How would you call this insurance? I call it scam artists. Needless to say, I switched back to the previous insurance and do NOT recommend anyone to use TD Insurance neither for home nor for auto. They'll lure you in just to hit you with a 25% increase the following year. Shame on you TD!

Submitted home/auto claims due to the recent June 13th hail storm. TD INSURANCE is a complete utter disappointment. I would suggest avoiding at all costs. I regret not going with other insurance companies able to handle/process actual claims and provide customer service support when needed most. After nearly 2 months I have yet to finalize any of my 3 open claims. The adjuster assigned to my auto claims - complete fail. Good luck trying to contact via phone/email.
