I have had my insurance for almost 30 years with Johnson inc for two homes, vehicles, RV as well as having had my two adult sons get their insurance through them they do not consider any loyalty. Recently, I had issues with my renter so did not renew my contract with them ending May 1st and decided to do renovations on my old home before future renters moved in. I did the renovations taking approximately two months. I advised my insurer of the renovations and that the home was vacant during this time however was there every day doing the renovations and ensuring no issues arose during the vacancy as well as my property management company were looking advertising for new renters. Johnson decided they would no longer insure my rental property being a customer for 30 years stating the rental property was vacant and if I want to insure it I had to go to another of their providers under them and would have to pay 4 times the previous rate yearly on that property. Even after stating I check the house every day, mow the grass weekly and ensure no problems, a loyal customer they refused to extend it a month or two until my Property manager got me new renters. Their attitude basically is the greed in their almighty dollar and no consideration in my advising them of the fact was doing the renovations and should have lied to remain with my policy. Shame on you Johnson Inc for basically telling me they have no customer loyalty appreciation, and honesty and to go to another provider. One claim on the old house back in approx 1999. Poor customer service period.
Have been with Johnson for my auto insurance for many years and purchased a home and was told no because we are using "a non preferred standard bank" ONLY insurance company that cares who the mortgage company is with!? I can surely say that I will be cancelling my auto insurance as well, what a disgrace of a company!
I have been a loyal customer for 10 years on auto insurance and 9 years for home insurance. And we never had a claim with our home insurance for all those years too. We moved last year to a new city and we got our home insurance back to them. To renew our home insurance this year they increased it to 16% and the customer service person on the phone told me that the assessed value of our new home went up by 4%. She also told me that the price of materials is up to replace homes. I asked her why would you increase the price to 16% while the assessed value only went up by 4%. Then she referred me to another line called Star something for loyal customers as she cannot do anything about it. And they have to call me back since no one is available to speak with supposedly a Star and loyal customer. Time to shop around again folks and that includes our auto insurance now.
Opened mail on a Friday night after work to find out Johnson cancelled my auto policy on 2 vehicles a week before with zero notification and zero explanation. Have been a loyal customer for 10 years with home insurance, 3 automobiles, 1 boat and a camper. Had only 1 claim from a hit and run 2 years ago. Of all the things we have insured with them, they selected 2 vehicles to cancel coverage on. I cannot even grasp what predicament we might have been in if we had been in an accident during the time we had no insurance coverage without our knowledge.
They are cheap but they are horrible to deal with in every possible way. They told us our policy was cancelled and continued to take payments from us even though we talked to them and sent various emails stating we were cancelling our policy for both home and auto and they are still arguing with us that we didn't cancel the policy. And when we made a claim, they were horrible and expensive and not upfront about what was required. A month after we had the work done they started making requests for pictures before (which we obviously couldn't get because the work was done), during and after. And for a receipt. I had asked them prior to the work being done what they needed and I had emails stating "nothing"
We have both of our cars insured through Johnson so we figured we would get our home insurance through them as well. We just bought our first house and we were so excited to move in. On the closing date, our lawyer contacted us asking what we were doing about home insurance. I told her that it had already been sorted out and that everything was in order. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case - at the last minute, they decided that they were denying our claim because we have our mortgage through a private lender (which they knew in advance). All of our stuff is sitting in a trailer. My husband and I and our 5-month-old baby are don't have anywhere to live because of this. Thanks a lot.

Had house and auto, I was paying 204 a month with no claims other than one that was 10 years ago for an accident. Every year my insurance was going up. I was thinking of purchasing a new car which I was driving a 3-year-old RAV4 at the time and my insurance was gonna go up about 15 dollars a month, my RAV4 was still worth more than the new car. I called around and I got both home and car for 127 a month. Big difference! So, I called Johnson. But a couple of weeks later my new payment came out which it was supposed to and to my surprise so did the old one. So now I don’t have enough money to cover my other bills, I called them and they said they can’t do anything, they are worse than the government when they owe you the money you have to wait just like them. And they told me they won’t know if it cleared or what I would be getting back of that payment. I felt like I was robbed the last couple of years with them, and now I know I am. And they don’t care I asked if anything can be done and a lady said - "I am sorry we have to wait till the end of the month to see if it clears".
