You get hit and they run.

I have waited for over an hour on three consecutive days in order to try to modify my auto policy (to cancel the coverage for a car I have sold). At this point, I would even be willing to deal with a call centre based in India. Come on TD get your act together... your customer service, or more accurately, your lack of customer service is embarrassing.
They have the most pathetic customer service. I called them for a piece of information and tried to get through four times. They kept me hanging on the line every time. I waited and eventually, had to disconnect the line after 20/25 minutes because I had my own works to do. It is sad to see, how these big insurance companies are making tons of money with absolutely zero respect to their customers. Pathetic. I know, they are one of the few insurance companies (which they are taking full advantage of) but stay away from them if you have other options.
I have been a customer for years, but after having to file a claim I would never go back. At first I had three different people handling my claim - all told me different information. I showed up for an appointment to fix my car, and the appointment hadn't been made, even though I received a confirmation email. When I had problems with my adjuster, I called the office to ask them to assign me someone new. Not only did they refuse to do that, but they told my adjuster I wanted to switch, making our communication very uncomfortable. I am astounded by how bad they bungled my fairly simple claim. Terrible customer service.
Waited 2 hours and still, no one picks up. TD just want to rip off the current customer and my rate went up 100 after a small collision in a parking lot.
I have been with TD insurance for 2 months now and I want to say that they have horrible customer service. Before taking the policy, when I used to call them for quotes, the wait times were hardly more than 5 minutes. And now that I am an existing customer, the wait times have increased to approximately 50 - 60 minutes. It's pathetic! I want to cancel my current policy, but they said they will charge me the penalty of approximately 300-400$. I am stuck with them now.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Multiple calls, always next in line.
Total joke. Not worth choosing them for their customer service alone.
Embarrassing.
I had been with Meloche Monnex for almost 30 years. I stuck with them because back in 1990, Meloche Monnex was the only broker willing to provide reasonably priced auto insurance when I had only a year of driving experience. I moved last month and called to advise of a change address. On the first attempt, I waited an hour without getting through. On the second and third attempts, I waited 45 minutes without getting through. On the fourth attempt, I got through after over an hour. In response to this disgraceful customer service, I demanded that my home and auto policies be cancelled. Only good thing I can say is that management allowed me to cancel without penalties. I'm not sure what TD has done to screw up the business model of Meloche Money, but it is a total disaster. Like a previous reviewer, I went to CAA and ended up saving $300 a year on my home and auto policies.
If I could give a negative rating, I would. Waited on the line for 40 minutes and still no service. Terrible company! Insurance is far too costly. I got the same coverage from CAA for $ 450 less. Now I’m waiting on line to cancel and to get the address to send written cancellation. I’m still on the line waiting...
I was dealing with the dumbest person, kept asking the same questions, kept me on hold for over 3 hours, still didn't get the job done. One of the worst customer services experience...

I was involved in a hit & run accident resulting in my car being unfit for the road. I called the customer service line and was told that I would not hear back from a claims adjuster until Tuesday of next week (it's Friday morning). I was passed back and forth between four customer services representatives that were very RUDE and unknowledgeable. I was told that I would have to pay a $1000.00 deductible and would not be given a rental car as it was not in my policy. However, I called four days prior to adding accident forgiveness as well as the renal services. TD insurance will not provide a rental car and/or wave the deductible as stated in my policy because the policy did not begin for another 27 days? How does that even work? As soon as my vehicle is repaired, I will be cancelling my policy and going elsewhere.
