Their rate increase despite having no tickets or accidents was ridiculous. They are definitely a company that I wouldn`t do business with again.
I called them to change the 3 insureds (cars+house) withdrawal accounts but they did withdraw one of them from the new account. so I called again. The other agent found the wrong account number. I let them number again. he said it is cleared. 4 months later I got a letter from TD insurance that missed one from May. What is this guy done? I was upset & canceled all of them. Never use them. I spent almost 2 hours on that.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I phoned Primmum this morning to make a minor change to my auto coverage. I have been on hold waiting to speak to a Customer Service Representative for 1 hour 36 minutes. Primmum, you just lost a multi-year customer.
Brutal service, no consideration and raised rates for idiotic reasons. Had to call in twice over a 6 month period to change my address and my rate jumped a total of $22 dollars a month because the area I now live in has less crime than the previous. It makes no sense what so ever.
Ridiculous that you are punished for safe driving and keeping a clean record. Greedy company.
I wouldn't recommend using this insurance company.
They charged me twice at the end year it's December and at the beginning of the next year, it's January. So, charged twice, and the representative was not able to explain why.
Secondly, I had an incident, they know that I didn't have the car rental policies there. So, to make a decision about is written off or repairable, they took their time to think about it for two weeks.
Today I gave information to the adjuster about where my car should move to start fixing it. The adjuster also taking time.
So, slow service.
I have been a client with Primmum's Markham office for about 15 years, with no claims.
The last 2 years have been terrible. I made changes to policy and was told one thing by the customer service representative, they did something totally different.
The wait time on the calls can be a one-hour plus, then you get a representative who hangs up on you in the middle of the conversation. I always ask that if the call drops, please call me back. They say yes of course, but it never happens.
Incompetent agents, unlimited waiting times, rude agents, they have it all.
The last one took the cake. I was talking with one of their agents and asked for her name and id number, but she refused to identify herself. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she just said that she is going to hang up on me, which she did.
They just renewed my policy for another year and made the same mistake that they do each year.
Adjuster refused to include the cracked windshield in the claim.
Missed the fact that the spare was gone and holding mechanism was damaged.
Claims adjuster provided poor information and we kept wondering how things would be handled. Just a very disappointing experience. After 20+ years we are now shopping for a new insurer.
I do not recommend TD for any of your needs.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My father-in-law passed away in February 2020... We sent a death certificate and proof of the sale of his vehicle. They are still taking out his monthly payments as of today. My husband and his sister have called numerous times and the agent simply says - SUE US? They renewed his policy in July knowing he has passed... No sympathy or courtesy whatsoever... Just cold insurance agent to deal with. Shame on you Primmum! We will be taking this further with the news and lawyers!
Do yourself a favor and stay away from these guys.
I made a mistake and had a payment bounce (my own fault) which there was a $25 fee for, fair enough. The re-process came out on a date that we had not agreed on, being returned again and creating another NSF fee.
When speaking with a lady, I asked if it would be a problem for the company to 'grace' me the second $25 fee, and we could set up a date to clear everything up and get things back on track. She assured me that "That won't be a problem. You've been a customer for a long time and have always paid on time, 25 dollars is no big deal. I'll contact you once I've received an answer from head office."
She did call back (the only one who did) and left a message, but no extension number in order for me to get a hold of her. So, I got in touch with a new rep who had no idea what I was talking about and re-explained the entire situation. He said he would "take it from here" and that he'd call me once he received word. He never called back.
So a third time I called back, new rep, explained the situation, to which a snappy gentleman responded unprofessionally with "Oh yeah, okay I can see this on the account now. Yeah we asked them and they're not gonna do it." Surprised, I tried to reason with him and said "So, they're not going to reverse the second $25 fee?" He said no, they would not be reversing the fee and explained that if it happened again there would be further consequences. So, I cut my losses and asked which date the payment (with the two added fees) would be coming out. He gave me a date and we hung up.
The payment came out on that date, but not with the two added fees, so I got in touch with them again to get a new date. I also explained the entire negative experience to another new rep who had no idea (and by the sounds of it) didn't care what I was talking about and said "I can have a manager call you if you want." To which I said yes, please. She told me that because the managers are busy, they can't give me an exact time, but it would be within the next 24-48 hours for sure. I was fine with that.
So here we are about 3 weeks later, of course no call from the manager, which at this point, doesn't surprise me. This is a company that cares only about the monthly payments they're taking out of your account. A company that after years of giving them thousands and thousands of dollars couldn't give me a break on a $25 fee from a mix-up we had.
Not to mention they never keep their word on dates, times and promises. The customer service at Primmum Insurance is extremely terrible. For the service (or lack thereof) I've received from them, it wouldn't surprise me if my file was labeled 'chump' and placed in the 'don't call back' drawer. My advice, chose another company.
Yours truly,
Chump
