Still waiting on home repairs a year and a half after someone drove into our house!

I am so impressed by how they accommodate their client.
Westland is reasonable, thorough and keeps you well covered. They answer any questions you may have and try to get you the best deal for coverage that you need. Will stay with them.
Outstanding. The agent took care of a change to my auto insurance very easily & professionally. Plus, she had a pleasant & respectful attitude towards her customer.
I had a joint tenant policy with my Mother. She passed away, and they refused to cancel the policy and make a refund.
1and 2 weeks ago, I left messages for Westland to contact me for advice on how to proceed on a claim for water damage my AC caused to mine and my neighbors' condo. Westland failed to respond. When I finally did get a response, it was unclear. I had to rely on my neighbor in whose condo the damage occurred to give me sound advice. Her insurer responded immediately and sent someone to assess the damage.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
I've called to cancel my insurance from an apartment in 2019-2020 several times and the company will not cancel payments. They have charged me over 1000$ over the years and there is nothing I can do with the service. It's quite ridiculous, I'm now looking into canceling my debit that I've had for over 15 years due to this consistent charge that they will not cancel.
Disappointing...
I have been with Nuera since I was renting and Westland took over. Nuera have a heart for a missed payment. They will even offer to waive the fee on a 1 time annual policy. But Westland they will even keep charging you with NSF and keep running your debit/credit card. I ask for the very beginning if they can waive the fee as my bank charges me too, they said no. I even tried to call their tool free line and it will just not go through. Only way to contact them is an email. and heartlessly charging me an NSF fee of 105, 3 times in a month and they won't even waive it, even though I only missed this time, once in an annual policy for about almost 10 years of being with them. now they took all NSF fee and leaving the premium unpaid. Heartless insurance company. Never had I ever have a claim with them. If you calculate they have made money out of me for almost 10 years and just missed 1 payment you will be facing a cancellation soon.
I was required to take out a Builder's Residential Home Policy that cost $3,500 for the year. This type of policy allows you to live outside the home while construction is being completed.
We engaged in an extensive reno of the home bringing the entirety of the home up to code. This requires us to move out to the home for 15 months.
Just prior to moving back in, we had a sewer back-up whose underlying cause was a cement blockage in the sewer line. We called Westland Insurance who said that they were on our side and we would do anything we could for the insurer. I rolled my eyes.
In the end Westland Insurance did nothing more than engage in a series of insurance like talk that was not in plain English and did little to explain their decision except to cut and past excerpts of the policy. It was off-putting and their behavior was rude.
I am not trying to get a resolution to the issue but they will drag this out for months and when all we wish to do is fix the sewer damage.
Shame on Westland. The are good at selling policies but not much else.
Please think twice about Westland Insurance.
We unknowingly had been paying an incorrect high rate of insurance for several years and this year our new representative Nicole discovered it immediately upon reviewing the policy! She even managed to provide a refund for this year as we had already paid online! We are extremely thankful for her knowledgeable and astute attention to our account. We highly recommend her and will be using her and the company for all our insurance needs. Thanks, Nicole.

We have a home insurance policy with Westland and have had 5 different agents (since the fall of 2023) working on our claim in the last year and a half. A local driver hit her gas pedal instead of her breaks and proceeded to crash through our landscaping/fountain and into our garage. The house repairs, while nicely done, do not match the rest of the house. This is a luxury home that we bought to retire in. It has been devalued by the mismatched repairs and the damage to the driveway remain unresolved as well as several other areas. We have tried coming up with reasonable solutions at various stages of the repairs (my experience in the design world made me wary of the 'close enough' attitude that many tradespeople might have) but Westland doesn't seem to care, and the unacceptable repairs have not been addressed. I have had very little communication other than the restoration company, and I'm concerned that Westland is only going to repair our house to the degree that insurance covers the driver. That should not happen when we personally pay Westland to insure us, not the insurance company of the driver. They should be covering any home repair deficiencies from the accident because that is what house insurance is for. Not only did we live with an ongoing restoration project, Westland raised our house insurance substantially, twice. In the interim, we never heard from our adjusters, but the office had several photographers come by to document our home in order to support their 'significantly higher' rates than all our neighbors. It's one thing to be a victim of an accident that you had no part in, but to be victimized by your own insurer sure adds insult to injury.
