Horrible Experience

There are much better companies than this. Too expensive not worth service.
Had my ATV insured through them. Sold the ATV but didn't bother to call as I figured it would just run out at the end of the term and/or they would contact me to discus. About six months later I recieved a call, text, email and letter from a collections company saying I owed them $75. Had that paid same day. Why didn't TD just call, email, text or mail to save us all the headache. Seems like a shady practice. Beware.
My experience with TD insurance was extremely disappointing. We filed an insurance claim, only to be informed later that they wouldn't cover it. To make matters worse, they increased our insurance premium immediately after, which felt like a blatant money grab. When we tried to address the situation on the phone, the representative's unprofessional behavior included laughter, making it clear that they didn't take our concerns seriously. This type of customer treatment is completely unacceptable
They're incredibly rude. They speak as though they don't need your service. The customer service is horrible.
My home and auto insurance rate keep getting higher every year even if I never had any claims. This year, I got my full G licence and instead of getting a lower rate, they increase my auto insurance by more than 70cad per month. Needless to say, I switched to another insurance company.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
TD Insurance asked me to install a Security monitoring device on my car as my car is a high risk vehicle. They were going to reimburse cost of installation.
I told them I was planning to change car and would install it on the new car as I was buying newer version of same vehicle.
By the time I found a vehicle and changed, they canceled reimbursement option without informing me and now have played the game of making me pay for the device with the threat of otherwise increasing my premium.
TD is an UNETHICAL organization so be careful when you deal with them.
Normally I expect an insurance provider to be bad after signing up. They'll do anything for your service, and then turn a blind eye. This was a blind eye before they even had my service.
Their online system wasn't working. It kept saying they couldn't verify my identity after they were supposed to send my phone a code (which it didn't). So I talked to CS, and they confirmed there is no reason I shouldn't be able to buy online, and gave me instructions to clear my cache, restart my browser, and retrieve my quote.
Only their own instructions don't work. There is no button to retrieve quote.
So I rebuilt the entire quote from scratch, on a new browser with everything cleared and it still didn't work, and he confirmed that while he could help me, I would lose the 5% online discount (which would work out to be like ~$85)... So I have to pay an extra $85 because your system, and their own instructions don't work (tried on 3 different browsers, and mobile)???
And again, if this is how bad their system and customer service is before I've even paid them, I can't even begin to imagine how bad it is after they have my money...
This is to let the world know that TD Insurance is a scam. I have been paying my premium regularly for many years and the very first time I have a claim due to a little damage to my car rear bumper has been a big issue in over two months now. Their approach is unprofessional and unbusiness like.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Went with TD because I got discounted rates from being alumni.
When I tried to renew my insurance, all my accounts were closed due to a late payment. This meant that I couldn't even view the invoice to pay them.
Their phone service is pretty good when you catch them within their working hours though.

I had been with TD home and Auto insurance for two years. I went on vacation and didn't realize my home insurance payment didn't clear. Instead of contacting me, I get home from vacation with a letter saying I had to pay out $3600 or my home insurance was cancelled. I paid the $3600. Then one month before my insurance was to renew. They took a payment out of my account. My payments before they made me payout were $325, the new payment they took was $390. Not telling me they upped my insurance. They told me I would get a refund, I advised them I didn't need a refund because it bounced as I didn't know they were going to take a payment. I cancelled the policy. They took a payment of 390 out again 4 days later. I then cancelled my home insurance & car insurance. It took 7days to get my refund for my home insurance. Then I needed a premium paid letter, to prove I didn't owe anything to TD. They told me I would not receive the premium paid letter for 10 business days. They refused to email the premium paid letter to the new insurance company or myself. So I can not get insurance for 10 business days. This is why I left this company. You are just a dollar sign or a number to TD, and they do not care about you. I would use TD as last resort. Dealing with TD has been a nightmare!
