Frustrated beyond belief!

I had my truck stolen and Allstate tried using a loophole in their contract by saying that because my truck was rear-ended before and even though it was with my old insurance company and fixed they refused to cover my stolen truck because they said it had a prior damage history... WHAT A JOKE they are the worst and are worse crooks then who stole my truck.
Do not believe the ads that Allstate auto insurance is so great; cheaper than many others, yes... to start with. They say they won't cancel your insurance if you have a claim but I can tell you from personal experience that is false. I had a fender bender and they dropped me instantly. Lots of people think that's not a big deal, it is. When that happens and you go to the next company you're in for a surprise because once Allstate drops you, you have then been "denied insurance before" to your next company and you will either be denied insurance or you'll be classified as an ultra high risk insured and you'll pay through the nose. As an example, I paid 835 a year with Allstate. After they cancelled me, it cost me 2800 a year for 6 years after Allstate. Be very careful people.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Let me explain drivewise to you in the terms that no one tells you. Yeah you're gonna save 10%. Literally. That is all. Let me explain why. You get the 10% for signing up. Here's what they don't tell you. You plug it in, it monitors your usage. But it is not designed to monitor your actual driving skill. They base their evaluation (I know because I read the terms and conditions, which you can't read until after you sign up), on the times of day you drive. For example I was getting dinged for driving to work every day. You know why? Because I work midnights. So basically anything after 10pm is considered high risk. Same with high traffic times like when pretty much everyone drives say from 7am to 11am and also from 4pm to 7pm. So you're screwed there. Apparently it was my fault for having a midnight job...they don't care (I know because I called and complained). Also they charge you for hard braking. But nevermind that I wasn't about to hit a car, but a kid or an animal that ran out in front of me. Doesn't matter. Even if you hard brake because someone cut you off, if you drop off more than 13km in a certain amount of time you lose percent. Also you lose if you drive too much. So my gf works out of town, so she gets charged because she drives too far. It also stipulates that you have to drive your car, so you can't not drive or leave it in your driveway, you will also lose points. You can't go over 125km/h ever. That means if you are driving through Cambridge or Toronto where people go 140 at least, you'll be in the slow lane for the next 6 months. And last but not least, their site is inaccessible to log in after your period is finished. This means you cannot see your final percentage, or your overall progress. They send you an email 2 weeks after you've completed it, only to give you an average of your percentage estimate...that means it's not the actual number of percent you're going to save on renewal. Once I started driving and logged in at my 3 month review, I noticed that my percentage had dropped almost 10% even though I was a perfect driver. No hard braking, no accidents, no speeding. Yet I lost points. So I told my gf screw it, I'm just going to drive like an idiot, and when I logged in again in another month it went up 2.5%. I don't even know how any of it is explainable. This system is a joke, but if you want advice from a real driver, sign up, drive like you normally do, because at least you save 10% in the end. But do not change the way you drive. It does not make a goddamn difference. You're welcome. I wish this review was here when I signed up, because literally no one had any of this information. I hope you all drive safe, that is how you feel safe. Not how a computer tells you.
Just don't even buy their product! G-d forbid you have to file a claim. I have never been treated so poorly in my whole life! I've had this insurance company for 22 years. Homeowners and auto policies. A recent wind storm damaged my classic car, so I file a claim because I can't even see out of the windshield. First I'm told just because I have insurance doesn't mean they have to fix it. What?! Then I'm called a liar because there is no way this was damaged the way I say it was. Wow, really? Just because you're a man, you think it's ok to bully a woman who is being completely honest with you about this claim. I own a classic car that I keep fully insured. So they don't want to repair it. Well, if you don't want to repair a classic car, then don't allow me to insure it. It's quite simple, I could go with another insurance company then and not have to deal with your treatment. The only other claim I filed was many years ago, and once again I was accused of lying about a break in to my home. They paid the claim (about 30% of it, that is), then continued to send me accusatory letters to be 'sure to let us know if these items magically appear'! Wow! I just can't even. If I treated people like that in my job, I would be fired immediately. But it's ok if you pay your money and don't ask for anything in return. Sounds a bit like a mafia, doesn't it?
Every review has a story behind it. I'll try my best to tell our story, more facts, less comments.
Nov 8, 2016, the day of US general election, the 3rd day after the time change(daylight savings to standard). It was a wet evening. The visibility was not good. That was pretty much the circumstance in which we were involved in the traffic accident.
I won't discuss any of the accident details here. Just want to say at the time we just switched our insurance policy from a company with which we had been for 20 years without any at our fault claim. The accident occurred after I made a left turn on a green light.
After the accident , a tow truck driver asked me, "who are you insured with?" "Allstate " I answered. The driver then said: good. The voice was light, but the tone was firm. For us, it was not so optimistic.
The car was no longer drive-able , so we got a rental car onsite.
The next morning we reported the accident to the company, telling them about the rental car. The claim process started smoothly. Due to the fact that the car was a leased one, there were some communications among insurance , leasing company and us. There were no hard questions. The staff were helpful & dedicated.
The car ended up being a total write off. We got the green light to lease a new car in a timely manner. On Nov 20, we got a newly leased car, less than two weeks after the accident so we could return the rental car before long.
The car was fairly valued as far as we were concerned.
There was no dispute during the whole process which was beyond our expectations.
Our policy will be due for renewal in August this year. We are optimistic about our future with Allstate.
Our story begins like most stories, we needed an insurance company to help us resolve our claim in a timely manner. I'm sure all insurance adjusters are very busy, we all are busy every day. Our fender bender took two months and counting to repair, pay the body shop and reimburse us for the rental car. Allstate paid the body shop, but has not called once to say "we have received the copy of the PAID invoice from your rental car company and we SEE that you correctly used our recommended daily rate, no added insurance and that we made the effort to follow up with the Allstate Adjuster who can't seem to find the time to review after 10 business days, much less call to update us". Allstate gets poor marks for customer service. They received daily updates from the body shop doing the work. Allstate has a relationship with Enterprise rental car using daily rates required by Allstate if you want reimbursement. They have paid the body shop so that means they approved the body shop timeline and the work is done. How is it they cannot find the time to review the car rental? The car was returned to Enterprise 14 days ago, paid receipts sent to Allstate. Crickets. Still, have not spoken to the adjuster... Insurance companies get bad reviews all the time. Let the buyer beware. This company does not have your best interest in mind when they talk to you.
All State charged me an additional $90 dollars when I switched addresses without telling me. I found out about this as I received a letter in the mail stating I had an overdue payment. I am confused to why I have to pay $90 dollars simply to move? Company is a joke, these people are stealing our money as it is.
"You are in Good Hands with Allstate...” What A BIG JOKE!! My truck had a hit-and-run done to it and, because I let my son drive it in the past, they have declared my policies on all three on my vehicles void and refused to pay for damages. The adjuster came to my house and treated my wife and I like criminals. Accusing us of lying and trying to fraud the company. I have been waiting for six weeks for a reply and finally got one. I have paying insurance premiums for 35 years with very minimal claims and this is the way you get treated. All insurance companies pretend they are your friend but I am telling you to never trust an agent, adjuster or other employee of the company. Avoid Allstate Insurance because you are not in good hands…
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Avoid this company, they will steal your money. You can not do a claim even if it is not your fault because it will increase 75%. They have colluded with vehicle repair centers. Both agreed an amount of damages that doesn't exist in your car. When you try to talk with some representative they never show up or call you again.

Words are just not enough to explain the horrible mistreatment and bullying I got from this company not to mention they have screwed my record up and refuse to do anything about it. It all started when one day I woke up to go downstairs to my garage and notice that my car was not at its parking spot. I called building security and management they could not find out what had happened the cameras were pointing in the other directions and someone had apparently stolen my car. I then proceeded to call the police and made a theft report with them, they advised to call my insurance company and see if they would compensate me for my losses. Upon making the call to my insurance company they first quietly asked me all the information about the vehicle and my personal information; as we got close to the end of our call (nearly after 30 minutes) the agent tells me that sorry we cannot cover you for theft because you only had liability insurance on the vehicle. (It took her 30 minutes to realize that). Anyways what's gone is gone I swallowed the harsh pill and went about my business and took over my wife's vehicle to go to work and back as she was on maternity leave. 2 weeks later I receive a letter from the insurance company stating that they will be cancelling my policy because of misrepresentation. I called the office and could not get a hold of anyone for a week, finally fed up I show up at their office and speak to their manager, who tells me the misrepresentation is for the fact that I had told them my wife lives in the states (Lying to my face). When I told them this is a lie my wife just delivered our first baby here in Canada and that we are happily married and living together ever since we got married. They changed their story and said we apologize for the mistake and we will issue this letter to you that states there was no misrepresentation so long as you give us an email that states you the insured requested the cancellation. Believing their lies we did just that wrote them an email stating to cancel our insurance, and that's the last I spoke to the manager. She apparently went on a "life long" vacation and handed the file back to the same agent who had put the misrepresentation on my file in the first place. Here is where I stand. I have a cancellation on my file and 1 misrepresentation. I have a letter from them stating the cancellation was not for misrepresentation but at the clients own request. No other insurance company will cover me. Oh, wait it is not done yet. So, I lost my car from theft and now the place where my wife leased her car from is saying they are going to take the vehicle back because it is currently uninsured and they cannot let us keep it. So now I have no vehicle and I have to take a bus to work and back. Its only been a week and I'm seriously considering taking them to court. I have never been to court and neither do I have a good job to afford a good lawyer. I'm completely at a loss and don't know what to do. I have been driving for 15 years now I have no accident on my file no tickets and I cannot find insurance... If you are thinking about Allstate, well, I don't know what to tell you. I can tell you to run away far away from this company. If anyone can give me a tip as to how to deal with this situation I would really appreciate it very much.
