Awful customer service and communication

Absolutely a waste of time and very rude. Explained the house insurance we had ended on the 17th of the month, and they set the new insurance with them to start on the 20th, leaving a 3-day gap. Once they realized they made an error they cancelled the insurance policy citing a breach of internal policy, never taking accountability for the mistake they made.
I got the same coverage for $1000 per year, but TD insurance was charging me $2000 from last 7 years and I had no claim history. Staff is very rude. Even manager was too rude and said to me “if you don’t like us then don’t buy from us”. I am even going to stop banking with them.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
We have a claim for the Jasper wildfire and from the very start TD insurance has been a nightmare. Adjusters are impossible to get a hold of. When you do, they are completely uncaring and cold. You are questioned like you are on trial, and they are trying to find you in a lie. They are trying everything not to pay out. As soon as we are done, we will be switching insurance companies.
My representative stated that they would give an estimate last Friday over 1.5 weeks since the accident. We sent him numerous calls and emails and nothing! As though he ghosted us. Not impressed at all!
This pathetic company lured me in with a "reasonable" premium (3000 CAD) for the first year, then, in spite of being claim-free for several years, offered to renew with a premium of 4000 CAD... Their explanation was that this increase was a general trend over the province. I checked and found out that actually the average increrase was about 7-8%. So I shopped around and found a better policy for 3100CAD.
Don't waste your time with these clowns...
I have insured with TD for my home and car for over ten years. I never claimed anything until last year, my car was stolen, when working with TD for the accident, there is no sympathy, no support, very bad customer experience. I regret that I supported such a cold company over the last ten years. I will never do any business with TD. When you need help, they push you away.
I just had a claim with TD insurance. I had the worst adjuster ever. Her communication was lacking and she was so rude. I called her and her call disconnected. She then called me on a private line and was so rude to me. She said I was racist because I was having a hard time understanding her speech. She then tried to preach the Bible to me and tried to talk me out of being gay. TD hire more professional people.
Beware if in western Canada. They assign you to a rep in Halifax. Time zone makes it difficult to connect. Incredibly poor service. They used the cheapest contractor who made things worse with their work. When I filed a complaint about the poor service they handed the complaint to the person who provided the poor service. She did not care at all. TDI does not care at all. I ended up using my own contractor to do rework.
I had not at fault accident and unfortunately, I have received no support from TD.

My premium increased like $50 because of inflation, which seems a bit steep. I found a better insurance. So I requested to cancel and asked about a cancellation fee. I was told I was owed $5. Great. Then come time for new insurance to be paid, my TD insurance also comes out, a decent charge too. I call customer service, and they admit to making a mistake and that there was a cancellation fee. I was not informed of this, or I would have planned for the funds to be available. Now they put me in a predicament where I will be NSF’d bc I have other bills coming out. They refuse to help me out or do anything for me, even though it was their mistake. Do not recommend.
