I would have given them a 0 if I could. After 12 years with them (not even 1 claim) and building/living in a new house, Allstate raised my premiums by 60% within a year. When I called no explanation given. Couldn’t explain the reason for the ridiculous new premium. Cancelled right away. Now one of the managers asking for more money, regardless that the customer representative said that if I sent a cancellation letter by a certain date, I wouldn’t have to pay. Shameful. Stay away as for as you can from Allstate. I found a different company where I am paying 50% of what Allstate asked.
Fed up of calling this company, waiting hours on the phone listening to obnoxious music!
Been client for over 25 years.
3 renewals ongoing with increases of between 27 to 40 % !!!
Had a small incident at home, insurance up 40%.
I called another insurer, got great service & counsel. Planning to go to them for my cars.
The website is painful! It doesn't include all my policies, where are the others.
Sent me 2 copies of the same policy! Seems the computer system not working!
If I could give 0 stars I would.
I just got off the phone with Allstate. They raised my home insurance 30%. They confirmed there were no claims, no requested improvements to coverage. Point blank they cited INFLATION. In Canada, the inflation rate is 2%. Lie to my face they did. STAY AWAY FROM ALLSTATE!
It is very frustrating that the rates keep on going up in Alberta. My 2020 renewal went up 28%, and these increases have been fairly consistent year over year. Inflation of 28% while Albertans are in the midst of the biggest recession. I have no words to explain this frustration. Very disappointed. I have been with Allstate since 2013 and I have never had an insurance claim. I was warned by some people that this is what the company does, gives good rates to start and then increase unreasonably the rates year-over-year. Research and shop around if you have time.
