In December I was on Amazon and saw the MNBA credit card option and I would get $50 savings, why not apply for the card. It took till January to receive so I tossed it in my desk unopened. Later in January, I placed an order on Amazon not giving it any thought as my information is saved regarding my credit card. In February I received a bill in the mail from MNBA. What the hell that envelope was still unopened on my desk so the card was never activated. I opened the bill to see I owed MNBA $46. I signed into my Amazon account only to see that either MNBA or Amazon had activated their card and listed my other credit card as expired! I was apprehensive to pay the bill online so I wrote a cheque and cut up the card and sent it back!! So dishonest and desperate for clients.
Purchased on Amazon. Was advised that if I applied for an MBNA card I would receive 50.00 of my order and I would be approved in 2 minutes - complete LIES!
I applied for the card then was told I had to wait 30 days for approval and I didn’t get 50.00 off my order!
Tried to cancel/withdraw my application and of course, nobody can help and nobody and MBNA to speak to.
DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CREDIT CARD - THEY LIE AND HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I was offered a credit card and unfortunately, I accepted the offer. The mobile app did not work most of the time. To call customer service or to get someone on live chat is like pulling teeth. You have to wait for a long time to get someone and when you do, surprise! surprise! The person on the other end is always rude, obnoxious and untrained. Yesterday after wasting a total of 52 minutes on hold, I cut my card and asked to cancel my account. Who needs undue aggravation and waste of time.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID if you can. This company hurt my credit rating, without my knowledge. The customer service representative was extremely rude! I signed up for this credit card almost 20 years ago when I was a University student because I liked the free t-shirts they were giving out on campus. No meaningful job, lots of student debt, and they kept increasing my credit limit without my requests over the years. That should have been a red flag to how trustworthy they are. 17 years passed. I paid my bills online every month - I never missed a payment. I never really have any problems except aggressive telemarketing. The MNBA I had did not provide any rewards, and so I decided to switch credit card companies to one with a lower interest rate and better rewards. In 2017, I paid my last bill in full and requested an account closure. I spoke to a customer service representative who closed it for me and thanked me for the time with them. I could no longer access my online account. 3 years pass. I do a credit check on myself. I find out that MBNA has reported me to the credit bureau for a "delinquent payment." This is news to me since I was not informed that I even owed anything. After being put on hold for 30 minutes, I got one customer service employee who was pleasant. He said it was likely residual interest, that he would check in to it, and I should call back in a few weeks. A few weeks later, after being on hold for 30 more minutes, I am greeted by an EXTREMELY rude employee, who told me that, yes, I owed $2.94 and, that, yes, they did send me to a credit bureau for this. His claim was that they had informed me that this would happen. Quite obviously, I never received this information. I would have paid a $2.94 payment! I asked if they tried another form of communication - especially when it was something as serious as a credit record and when the customer had many years of exemplary payments. He kept cutting me off, telling me it was my fault, that it's up to me to check my accounts (even though after I closed the account, I had no access to it). Now, this $2.94 charge will have a negative effect on my credit rating for years! MBNA - if you are going to be sneaky and treat customers this badly, at least invest in some employees who are polite! I would say AVOID THIS COMPANY. There are so many other companies who are not this sneaky and rude! I want nothing more to do with them! AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I do not know if I should be thankful to them or not, you decide: My MBNA Rewards card seemed like a really good choice bringing me 1% cash dividends on most of my purchases. Of course I collected points, but I could then get a cash dividend at a rate of $25 per 25,000 points or something like that. Then I had a couple of transactions in 2017/18 that I disputed with them. One was an unauthorized hotel charge of $50, another was a dispute over wrong parts shipped by an auto parts company for which they refused to issue a refund total $75 to $100. They did nothing about these charges that made me upset. At about the same time they send me a new rewards agreement according to which I was going to be collecting "more points" on most items. Down the line they also mentioned that the rewards were redeemed at a different rate, now 50,000 points for $25 (or whatever it was). I immediately picked up a dividend card with another bank! My dividend rewards doubled! Not only that, in 2019 I rented a SUV from National. A rock hit my windshield and cracked it. The card insurance paid the whole thing! If it were my car, I was going to pay at least the $200 deductible on the $1,200 bill. MBNA, I wonder how you feel now that you've lost your fees on $50,000 worth of transactions on my card a year. The $50 you decided to keep on that hotel and the $75 on the parts will not make up for a single month, I am sure. The important thing, however, is that I am happy ;-)

I had a terrible experience with a representative who was snappy and rude. She kept repeating the same automated response instead of actually looking into the details of my concern. I cancelled my credit 4 months ago and thought I paid off my remaining balance since I never received a statement in the mail and my access to my online account was cancelled immediately after I cancelled. I told her I never received a statement but was happy to pay it right away, but she immediately started arguing that yes I had received the statement. This went in circles. Very unprofessional. She could have just explained that it looks like it was sent from her end and just apologized for me not receiving the statement. She indirectly made me feel like I was lying. Why would I lie, when I always pay my credit card bill on time and actually care about my credit score. Sure am glad I cancelled my credit card now.
My MBNA CREDIT CARD was stolen and after calling to report it stolen every day being on hold for countless hours and never being able to get through to anyone, I finally woke up at 3 am to see if that would be less busy. I discovered that my card is ACTIVELY being used. This isn’t a card I use, as I just have it for emergencies so I didn’t notice it is missing. The online system is down so I can’t check anything happening with my account. I haven’t been receiving statements in the mail and I can’t get through to a representative as they just put me on hold for hours and eventually disconnected. I have no idea if someone has access to my account or changed my mailing address as I can’t even get into my online account. I know it’s a busy time but reporting a stolen card should not be this difficult as this will ultimately affect my credit score.
Horrible. I only have this MBNA card because another credit card I had years ago has changed ownership so many times. Since switching to MBNA I’ve tried several times to create a login/password and login on the online banking and to no avail, it simply will not work. Even after doing it over the phone with a customer service agent. For this day and age, this is unacceptable. I will just continue to pay off this card and use my other one from another company with the same interest rate and away better app.

I did a dispute when a bartender added a $100 tip to my total bill. The bill was $75 and I requested the bartender total the bill to $100 leaving a $25 tip. MBNA said it was my fault for not having my reading glasses to be able to see the total - would not assist me whatsoever.
Payments are so tough and any other credit card does the job. This has no use at all other than adding headache to your financial profile
