You'd think that these people would appreciate their clients, but they do not. They are a scam, do not use this company if you value your money or mind. They will put an accident as your fault when you have all the evidence to say otherwise.
USELESS
On October 9, 2021, I contacted Security National Insurance Company, Toronto, Ontario to remove the insurance off from a car I had just sold. The representative I spoke with took a very long time, (leaving me on hold, to boot) to execute the cancellation. Then she insisted she "update" my file, which included questions about the use of my wife's car. I insisted she speak to my wife - how could I know or attest to her use of her vehicle? I also complained that it was already late in the evening< i was tired and spending more time discussing insurance (my cancellation task already completed) was neither how I wanted nor intended to spend the end of a very tiring workday. However, I said, I would like to get a quote on insuring a travel trailer I had recently acquired. Another hold, after which she returned to our call and resumed questioning - about my wife's use of her car! I hung up on her.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I stayed with TD insurance for over 20 years, insured cars and house. The price rises sky high and started to charge extra for monthly payments. I have 2 cars with them and due to covid, I sold one car to save some money. But the insurance price didn't drop but increase 50% than before. That's a crazy increase!!!
After being with this company for 20 years, I am pissed off at them and looking to take my business elsewhere. Almost everyone pays their premium monthly and not annually. TD Meloche Monnex just decided to charge an extra 1.3% on top of your premium if you pay monthly. After talking to a supervisor just now, I was basically told a lot of other companies do this, so it is just the norm. None of the supervisor's comments were useful. "We are tracking how many customers we lose because of this to see if it is an effective change." So basically you are tacking on fees and telling me you will continue to do so until enough clients leave your company. I now will be spending the rest of the day shopping around for another insurance provider.
A driver with Security National hit our brick mailbox at a high rate of speed completely destroying the entire structure. It has taken several weeks for Security National to process the claim and provide payment. They asked for direct deposit information, yet mailed a check. When contacted about the check still not arriving we were told it was in the mail, only to find out it wasn’t mailed until the day after that conversation. So within days we provided the police report and quote for repairs and banking information as requested to process the claim and are waiting weeks later for the “check” and have now been told it should arrive sometime the end of next week, which would be a full 3 weeks after it was supposedly mailed.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I need to make a change in my car insurance policy. I called TD Insurance twice. The first time I was on hold for a bit less than 2 hours. I hung up. The second time it was over 2 1/2 hours. Again I hung up. By calling the claims department and begging them to get someone in customer service to call me, I managed to get someone in customer service to contact me. He gave me his email co-ordinates. Over the last 3 days I have emailed him 3 times. TD has yet to respond. They really don't want my business. I have been a client of theirs for over 20 years.
My brother was involved in a car collision, not at fault. The car was a write-off and they offered him a settlement for the car that is less than the market value. We tried to email them and call them multiple times. Just bounced from an adjuster to a supervisor to a manager it was ridiculous. Finally, I contacted my friend who is also a lawyer who helped my brother get the proper settlement for his car and also got a settlement for his collision injury. My suggestion is to get a lawyer if you get into a car collision.
Reading the reviews I see many others share my recent bad experience. I have been a TD auto insurance customer for 15+ years with one major and one minor not-at-fault claims, both years ago and they were handled fairly and efficiently. Out of the blue, my premiums increased $600/year this spring. I called to confirm it was unrelated to our old claims. They said it was an across the board increase for everyone. So I switched to another company and saved $500. But TD would not acknowledge my cancellation notification and sent me registered mail to collect payment. I called their 1 800 number repeatedly but even after waiting over one hour several times, it wasn't answered. Makes one wonder how their service and value went from very good to horrible so quickly?
The so-called adjuster has no voice mail... almost a week and no news about my car accident? HOW COME INSURANCE BUREAU of Canada allowing them to operate?

I have had auto insurance with them for 15+ years. No claims. I was hit from behind and have an injury that has not healed for 2 years now. Although money will not eliminate my pain, I lost a lot of money after the accident due to being unable to stand or sit for long periods. They are not paying anything out, and they have made me attend 3 medical exams, taking several hours of my time.
