Wait times to speak exceed 90 mins now..once connected, service is okay. Offered apologies for sending renewal late by 10 days but if I am late by 1 day, I will have to pay cancellation fees. No apologies excepted. With RBC for last 8 years but it has gone down into sewer now. Time to throw them out just for making me wait 90 mins on phone every time you call.
I've been on hold 2 hours so far. 2nd try to remove a sold vehicle. Had a claim a few years ago where no one would call back only for one time had her sat the phone down and laugh. Then I was so mad I hung up. She called me back to tell me she was hanging up on me!?
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I simply called on June 4th to make a change to my policy. After 45 minutes of holding, my first phone went dead. I found another phone and 38 minutes later, I am still holding, listening to their funky music and hoping that they are true to their word when the reassuring voice says "RBC appreciates your business and our representative will be right with you." RBC (or AVIVA) you can do better, or are you listening?
I don't know what happened to RBC Insurance but wait times to speak to an agent are now ridiculous. I have never seen such a thing! Did they go out of business?
Yesterday I waited 81 minutes before I had to give up.
Today I've been waiting to speak to an agent for 2 hours and 40 minutes!!!!!
I will be looking for another insurance company. If I ever needed to make a claim, I'd never be able to get through.
2 HOUR and 45 MINUTE wait and call got dropped. I am moving house and trying to change my address, that's all...have been trying for 2 weeks to get through but have probably lost an entire day being on hold in total. The last time I was on hold for 2hrs and 45mins when they dropped the call. This is reason alone to change insurance companies...unfortunately, I would still need to get through to cancel it.
Customer service is a joke, had to wait on hold each time between 1 and 2 hours! Once I actually get to speak to someone, they were completely incompetent and unhelpful. Tried to get an RV trailer insured, they claimed that they could not insure it unless I could guarantee that I would park it in a secure location (fenced, alarmed yard did not count as such, apparently). Their suggestion was to rent a garage for our camper! Seriously? After a week and several frustrating conversations, we went to a different broker, got insurance for our trailer in about 15 minutes, no hassle. After this experience, we cancelled our home and auto policies with RBC, as after a bit of research we also found we were overpaying by about $1200/year but were told we were being charged $350 in penalty for early cancellation of policy... Smells like a scam? Yeah, feels like we got scammed, too. Learned our lesson, glad to be rid of them
I have been trying to cancel my policy for over three weeks now. I've been on hold for almost 4 hours multiple times, when you leave your number, no one calls back...definitely giving me the runaround. Each time, they would ask for another task for me to do to get the cancellation "approved". Due to this, the policy was renewed and I was charged for this month!!! Absolutely ridiculous! I cannot wait to never have to deal with them again.
I parked my car and put it on suspended coverage. When I went to put it back on the road, they increased my rate. Said it was "pro-rated" for the rest of my term even though I ensured that my rates would not change when I changed my coverage. They refused to quote me for motorcycle coverage because I was not 30 even though I have a clean record and 4 years of constant coverage on my bike, but they will quote someone with two tickets who is 30. Terrible experience every time I call.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
RBC has changed their payment policy!! So watch out!! The month before your policy expires they are taking a double payment claiming you get that back when you cancel your policy. This is a total rip-off!!!!
This company has really gone to the dogs since Aviva started managing the Home and Auto insurance sections. Wait time is extremely long and premium keeps going up and up. Such a shame of what RBC Insurance used to be and what it is today. I believe they should try to get this business back from Aviva or they will end up losing their market!
