Terrible Customer Service

Had to call in for every single step for things to keep on going for our claim which is all supposed to be communicated and done automatically. If I wouldnt keep on calling in we wouldnt get anywhere with our claim. Once you finally talk to someone after waiting so long, the person was so super rude and just wouldnt let me explain. Hope to never have to deal with them again.
My van was stolen. I live alone and have no family. MPI gave little info as to the process. I have never gone through this before... I don't know what questions to ask or how the process goes. They gave me no list of approved shops MPI certified. Left making a guess who to take it to then have to relay information as they can't seem to call each other. I am the victim yet I am doing all the work. Towing of vehicle to shop was delayed by at least 7 days
Still would have been sitting at MPI if I didn't call and asked when it was being delivered to the shop, it would still be in their lot.
They gave me no time frame or date for the usage of the rental. All of a sudden I get a call that coverage has stopped. No warning no heads up... No date when coverage would expire. I don't get one little bit of info if I am not after them. Still, when asked when coverage is up on rental they gave me no answers.
It leaves me in tears. I have to get my van back which is disgusting to drive after people living in it because the coverage of the vehicle is breaking me. I am just a single poor person and MPI is breaking my back. I'm sure they wouldn't treat the owner of a Porsche like this.
If only there was another way other than being treated like garbage.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
They are just another money-hungry corporation that doesn’t care about people. They lied several times during my claim. I was injured in an accident that wasn’t my fault. Took 3 weeks to be able to start any treatments for whiplash and concussion. They lost my Keys for a week. I had to go down to their comp wound and of course, my keys were sitting on the driver's seat where I told them they were. They said I could go to a physiotherapist and chiropractor but then they denied my physio claim months 3 months after the accident. They rejected the chiropractor's diagnosis that I needed more sessions to heal properly. Private insurance cost more but is worth it when you have a claim. You can’t even call them as they say they aren’t taking calls and to leave a message. I have left 3 in 3 days and no one has called me back. The absolute worst!!!
MPI is so big... Nobody knows anything! If you are not on hold for a very long time you are in line for even longer! I lived in 2 other provinces with private insurance and there were cheaper and soooooo much better by far! MPI is a joke and so embarrassing but they are the one and only, so they rule you...
Nothing you can do! Nowhere else to go, and they know it! Very bad. Manitoba needs a change! Bad! And everyone knows it.
These people have had my truck for almost 6 months! No one answers the phone! It's a joke? Ready to report it stolen to the police
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Really? I call to make a claim and no one is home? How about adding claims adjustors as opposed to handy-out refunds?
I have yet to have one good experience with MPI. When talking to customer service they are extremely arrogant. You can tell MPI knows that the consumers are stuck with them so they treat their customers like that. It is always their way... They are one of the most unhelpful companies out there and every single time you call, someone always tells you something different than the last person you talked to. There is a real lack of communication between them and the customers are suffering because of it.
Try to get my driver's abstract. They don't do anything by email. Because not safe???
We are in 2021 and email is the best way to do it. And when I try to send a fax a got a no response. I try to send those fax multiple times and nothing. So I went by Canada Post. I'm waiting to see how it will go. Overall terrible customer service. Terrible hours to join them. Compare to other provinces price is way too expensive.
Argumentative, poor customer service, untrustworthy.
The value of our son's car (burned, electrical fire) was based on their best guess. We sent incomparable prices on the same type of vehicle. The adjuster was very unprofessional- we asked to speak with the manager/supervisor- she retorted we needed to deal with her. It’s been 2 1/2 months.

Manitoba Public Insurance have the worst customer service. The agents are very rude. Lacks empathy and always want to frustrate customers. I signed up for the winter tires program. MPI collects payment with my policy every 15th of the month. It happened that MPI attempted to collect payment in February and my bank declined it. Didn’t even know the payment was declined and, I have money on my account. On March 13th, I called MPI to make payment for March because I will be away for one month. The agent that I spoke to on the phone didn’t mention to me that they had issue collecting payment in February and, the payment that I was making is the February bill. My policy expired in the middle of March. I got back from vacation and followed up with MPI to continue financing the winter tires. Guess What? MPI customer services declined my request to refinance the winter tires because I have relocated to another province. They reminded me that I missed payment in February and March. So, I cannot refinance the winter tires. I mentioned severally to them that, I’m in the province for school. MPI customer service keep telling me there is nothing they can do me. I am out of the province. I cannot refinance the winter tires or renew my policy. Now, I got to pay off for the winter tires at once. I tried to come to an agreement with MPI and even made a partial payment. MPI customer service refused to assist me further. I cannot get my driver abstract or claim experience letter to insure my vehicle at my new province. I just got back from Vacation and, I don’t have the full amount to pay immediately. I need time to pay off up to $1166. I still made half payment to MPI. I also got to meet one reasonable customer service who was willing to assist me. She collected my bank info and she made me pay for the driver abstract and the claim experience letter. She told me that the driver abstract and claim experience will be mailed to address. Guess What? Another customer service called me two days later and said they are not going to mail the driver abstract and claim experience letter until I pay the full amount for the winter tires. There is nothing they can do because I am out of province. Never had this terrible experience in my life. I am very disappointed at MPI service. They need to work on their customer service and supervisors. They act like they everything on them and a customer have no say. How can you not resolve customer issues? At least be kind. We live in a world where nobody knows tomorrow.
