All I can say is don't!

I asked a customer representative for a hard copy of my home Insurance policy back in May of this year because my printer didn't work. All I have received was a copy of confirmation of the policy.
I called the customer service today and asked for a hard copy again. The representative gave me all kind of reasons that I could look up the 49-page policy on the electronic copy which was sent to me along with the renewal of the policy. The policy was updated since I bought it four years ago. This is the first time I asked for a hard copy in 4 years but the representative asked all kind questions why should I need to get a hard copy now. After gave him my reasons other than my printer was broken, he was unwilling to send me a hard copy because it contains 49 pages. It was a worst customer service I had ever experienced. I was wondering if I should continue to deal with Square One again when my house insurance is up for renewal next year.
These company is the most horrible insurance company I’ve come across. They sold me a cheap and nasty policy when I had a claim the left me hanging in the cold for almost a year! They should not be in bussiness.
Even though their price might seem competitive when real issues happen you understand why. We lost our home, because they first refused to cover us when our home flooded, still battling it with them and probably going to court on it. Then they forced us to take a loan by threatening that they are not cancelling our insurance. Once we fixed our home while waiting for a claim, they refused to renew our policy for no reason except that we were fully getting them on the claim which they haven't paid yet (7 months). Their response is unprofessional, my lawyer had to ask them over 3 times to respond, and even today they lack any serious attention to the matter. Basically, for them 'you' don't matter, your lively hood is last on their list. There are better options out there and similar pricing, if you care about your family and your lively hood, do some homework, and avoid those who won't be there for you.
Square One Insurance has got to be one of the worst Insurance companies I have had the misfortune of dealing with…The adjuster was very rude and unprofessional and immediately claimed I don’t qualify for any payments for the liability damage. They denied my claim for accidental flood damage, claiming it is not covered by my policy. The policy clearly states that third-party liability damage is covered up to $1 Million. It has been 7 months since the flood occurred and I have not received any response from the adjuster even after providing all the invoices for the repair cost to other units below me. I was forced to pay the full $22,000 in flood damage out of pocket. Avoid this Insurance company like the plague.
Square One hires contractors who are unreliable, not necessarily certified or bonded. Our items were moved after a flood by a mover who stored them in a moth-infested storage, returned damaged goods, infested us with the moths, and they hired an initial adjuster who was a relative or buddy of the unlicensed mover. Our goods were damaged, some not returned at all; others are broken, and they will give you the total run-around when dealing with their adjusters, claims, etc. As soon as the ongoing claim is resolved, we will change insurers, and report to the BBB and the Insurer's Association.
Dealt with no less than three agents. One says one thing the other something else. In short over-staffed with incompetent people! So if I extrapolate I would bet they are a train wreck to deal with if you have a claim. They are substantially cheaper than all other competitors... so you are taking a big risk.
First claim with them. It's been about four months now and so far they managed to reduce my claim 80% leaving me hanging for four months now. I cannot get one dime out of them. They are polite but doing nothing. Waiting 3 months before they apply to get a police report... Then another month of waiting and they say they require a copy of My ID. They not only should have known to apply for the police reports months ago but they should have known about the police requirements regarding my ID, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Then because part of the theft involved collector guns and ammo, they asked for a copy of my PAL. Not only is it not safe to be sending copies of that to a stranger, one wonders if it is even required. They asked for proof of ownership of some items. I gave them several. I have more but they never even bothered to contact the people I told them about. If you want polite airhead responses go to them. They only have one mandate on their minds. No payout. Looking at their reviews, I see they like to pay out small claims. I hear if you have a serious claim they will cancel your policy. If you want professional people look elsewhere. One should not have to hire a lawyer to resolve an insurance claim!
Never had a claim. Had the unfortunate mishap of missing only one payment when my electricity went out for 7 plus days due to a severe Derecho storm in May 2022. No internet, no cell coverage, nothing was working and I couldn't do any banking or monitor anything. Once the power came back 7 days later, I caught up on my emails and noticed that the one payment bounced 4 days prior so I called right away to make the payment. The customer service agent would not take my payment because my policy was already sent for cancellation. She did however enter notes into my account saying that I could re-instate the policy at the same price once I was notified of the cancellation. Fast forward a couple of weeks, no notice came in by email which was my preferred method of communication with them so I called them back to take care of my account with them but the only thing they did was triple my monthly premium, require 2 months of payments in advance and would not budge. Pretty hard to come up with that sort of cash as a single dad with custody of my children. Despite me being proactive and calling right away and them putting notes in my account to protect my rate they would not budge and this even when I spoke to the VP of sales. Lesson learned... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
Don't listen to the commercials about policies being as low as $12 a month...
I contacted them to discuss ways to reduce what I pay monthly, as I was paying over $108 a month for a 600 sqft condo that I had never ever made a claim on. I had no choice at the beginning, but now things are tough for me financially.
As we went through my policy, their suggestions were only going to cut costs by a dollar here and there. They stated my fees per month were high because of some "condo owner's protection". I kept asking them, why are other insurance companies providing me with quotes as much as $60 cheaper -same deductibles, the same level of insurance coverage, etc. I did not receive a response and there was no budging despite me being clear that I was going to close my policy if they couldn't make a substantial reduction in monthly fees. I signed up with another insurance company for $50 less and cancelled my policy within the same day. In fact, the new policy provides me with the protection that Square One doesn't.
Please pay attention to what is listed in your policy. As a result of the phone call I had with them, I discovered they were charging me for auto-related liability insurance despite me not requesting it, as I do not have a driver's licence nor a car. I did not see this when signing up. I would have caught it. I will be contacting management and seeing how much money I paid in the last year for insurance coverage I did not need nor requested and will be demanding a refund.

So called these people for a quote on a new house, dealt with a lady, she seemed nice and competent. She gave me a quote and was happy and ready to go, she then said she needed pictures of the house, which I provided. I was dealing with a possession date, so time was critical, well then she totally ghosts me and passes me off to some other guy.
He is less than responsive and starts asking more questions and when I complain about the pass off they send me an email saying thanks but no, thanks.
Don't want my business no problem but don't leave me hanging like that.
