The worst insurance company ever

I was automatically enrolled in Bel Air when my former insurer was bought up. Unlike before, customer service under Bel Air is non-existent. Please hold, we are experiencing higher than usual call volume! I wonder why? On renewal, my quote was through the roof for a 2-bedroom apartment. I found a new provider, with lower rates, and the same/or better features. I called Bel Air twice and after a 45 minute wait got to speak with a living, breathing human. Unfortunately, the agent told me it was too early to cancel because it was more than 30 days. So, I phoned again when it was 28 days, and after a 30 minute wait on hold, an agent wanted to try getting me to renew. I resisted and they finally accepted my request to not renew. Had I been less strong willed, I am not sure that I would have succeeded. Sounds like strong-arm tactics to me. Beware!
I put a home claim in April and it's September and nothing has been done. The 1st quote thye sent was completely wrong and not that I pointed out their mistakes, they are not replying to belair somehow. Would not recommend. Rather pay more to get what you need. Horrible service with BelAir
Called to update my policy. Told that my updates increase risk and they have to cancel my insurance. Cancellation now means it's difficult to get insurance elsewhere and increases the overall price. Note I've been told that the small changes WOULD not impact my rates with other insurers, but having a CANCELLATION does.
Too much time on hold while being passed from one department to another. Spent an hour and a half and gave up.
There was a payment issue with my home plan - instead of contacting me via email or phone, they sent me some papers which never reached me. After trying that once, they cancelled my plan. I called back to find out what the issue was, they gave me no information about why my payment was declined and had me sit on the phone for 30 minutes before telling me I wasn’t eligible to renew my policy with them for 5 years due to the cancellation. On top of that, they told me that my car insurance with them would be affected due to the home cancellation.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
My mom passed away and I removed her from the policy after I paid they charged me another $100 because they needed to change paperwork. Definitely a shady company. I called and they did not care.
My unit was flooded water damaged they denied my claim. Paid zero for the claim. Reason not covered while I pay for both car and home insurance I was told in the beginning it covered my contents. Do not fall into a trap.
Called to bundle my auto and home as the auto rate was really good. However, I was asked if I had pets and I do and one of my dogs is a Shepard Rottweiler mix and because he has Rottweiler in him doesn’t matter how much they will not proceed with a quote. I find that ridiculous, but apparently, if your dog bites someone your home insurance is liable? I did not know that and I think it’s dumb. I am not sure if his actual breed is a rescue mutt. He has Rottweiler's colour and Shepard's face. So dumb!
Worst customer service! I was on hold all day every day for three days. Hung up on about 30 times! Nearly impossible to get ahold of an agent. Avoid this company!

I had a claim, and it has been months that adjuster does not reply to my emails, no call or update I receive.
