My first year of home insurance with Belair was around $1400, then it went to $1500, and this year I was told it would cost me $1975!!! I was shocked that they would raise rates 30% in one year, I have had no claims and also insured both my vehicles with them. I called to find out why the huge increase and I was told it was a general increase, no real reason or explanation given to me. I have received two other quotes with the same coverage for $1000 and $880. Once my auto insurance is due, I will be cancelling that as well. Goodbye and Good Riddance Belair, you have zero customer appreciation and horrible insurance rates.
I have or soon will have had tenant insurance with Belair Direct. It was good while it lasted. I had a dog bit incident before getting tenant insurance with Belair Direct. Almost a year afterwards they decided to cancel my claim due to the incident which has nothing to do with them. I now get to try and find someone else who will ensure me and my dog. Hopefully, I won't get evicted before then but what does Belair Direct care about that? I don't think they care at all and they are just like all the rest of the insurance companies there when you don't need them and not available when you do.
Prompt, efficient and considerate handling of our claim from start to finish by a caring adjuster.
While our house was timely and perfectly restored by the insurance company after a devastating ice storm, we were confounded by the fact that the necessary complete replacement of the roof was not covered under the householders policy by the insurance company - a totally unexpected expense of $ 22,000 which we, as seniors with limited resources, suddenly had to bear...
Cute commercial, ugly company. Never had a claim till this year. Wind damage to a fence. Belair...well-named because they are just air...commercials only. Most of the work is outsourced to another company who outsources to another company...and so on. Long story short. They quoted my fence repair, much lower than the 3 quotes I got. So I told them rather than me take the payout, I let them do it...3 months later the contractor shows up with 2-foot spikes for fence post rather than typical 4-foot hole and cement. Contract interface Crystal was rude, lied, terrible person. Won't ever go back to this company.
Called with an enquiry about my renewal (received nothing in the mail, only an email reminder) 1 week before due date. Over 8 years as a client for house and cars with not a single claim. Out of the blue was asked about the types of plumbing in my house which has Poly B. Told they would no longer provide insurance coverage. The policy was already at $1995/ year for the house with maximum discounts. AVOID! We are cancelling cars at renewal time as I have zero trust in them.
Don't waste your time with this company. Poor customer service and lazy staff. Clueless and not proactive.
Like a new broom, Belair is great the first year, but they quickly wear out their welcome. A poorly managed company that results in ridiculous premium increases year after year after year. It's time to find me a new insurance provider.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
I’ve been phoning Belair for a month now trying to get my property claim resolved - wind damage. They offloaded me to a company out of Saskatchewan called ClaimsPro. Their rep will not return phone calls or answer emails and always seems to ‘be out of the office’. I’m done with Belair. Renewal is coming soon and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Worst service I’ve received from any company I’ve done business with. Absolutely dismal.
Employee driving Bobcat to remove snow from city sidewalk hit and broke off hydrant in front of the property. We have a driveway that has a downward slope an ended up with almost 3 feet of water in garage and basement. It took a year but Belair got a refund from the city for our deductible. Thanks for the great service
