I cancelled my auto and home insurance policy last month since I found a better price from another company. The home insurance was ridiculously high, over $3,000 a year; they said that was their best-combined offer, we had to use them because we were using their auto insurance and we were too busy moving, after we settled down, we looked around for different quotes and decided to cancel, they charged us about $350.00 each cancellation, which is more than $700.00, we never had to pay cancellation fee with previous companies. They warned us they will put to a collection agency if we don’t pay for it. We end up no choice to pay them the painful price. Lesson learned and I will never recommend this company to anyone.
Fell victim to their false advertising, resulting in wasting over an hour and a half of my time filling their online quote form and talking on the phone, for nothing at all. Beware of their lies and fake promises!
Pathetic, waste of time. Was on the phone for an hour with them to discriminate the breed of dog I own and not allow me to continue my claim for my house insurance. Awful customer service and management. When asked what was wrong with my dog breed I was told “we don’t insure a lot of people that have certain animals; monkeys and reptiles fall into that category”.... what? Makes no sense... Would never recommend
My first year of home insurance with Belair was around $1400, then it went to $1500, and this year I was told it would cost me $1975!!! I was shocked that they would raise rates 30% in one year, I have had no claims and also insured both my vehicles with them. I called to find out why the huge increase and I was told it was a general increase, no real reason or explanation given to me. I have received two other quotes with the same coverage for $1000 and $880. Once my auto insurance is due, I will be cancelling that as well. Goodbye and Good Riddance Belair, you have zero customer appreciation and horrible insurance rates.
Cute commercial, ugly company. Never had a claim till this year. Wind damage to a fence. Belair...well-named because they are just air...commercials only. Most of the work is outsourced to another company who outsources to another company...and so on. Long story short. They quoted my fence repair, much lower than the 3 quotes I got. So I told them rather than me take the payout, I let them do it...3 months later the contractor shows up with 2-foot spikes for fence post rather than typical 4-foot hole and cement. Contract interface Crystal was rude, lied, terrible person. Won't ever go back to this company.
Called with an enquiry about my renewal (received nothing in the mail, only an email reminder) 1 week before due date. Over 8 years as a client for house and cars with not a single claim. Out of the blue was asked about the types of plumbing in my house which has Poly B. Told they would no longer provide insurance coverage. The policy was already at $1995/ year for the house with maximum discounts. AVOID! We are cancelling cars at renewal time as I have zero trust in them.
Don't waste your time with this company. Poor customer service and lazy staff. Clueless and not proactive.
Like a new broom, Belair is great the first year, but they quickly wear out their welcome. A poorly managed company that results in ridiculous premium increases year after year after year. It's time to find me a new insurance provider.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
I’ve been phoning Belair for a month now trying to get my property claim resolved - wind damage. They offloaded me to a company out of Saskatchewan called ClaimsPro. Their rep will not return phone calls or answer emails and always seems to ‘be out of the office’. I’m done with Belair. Renewal is coming soon and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Worst service I’ve received from any company I’ve done business with. Absolutely dismal.
I decided to go to the market this year to see what the new home insurance rates and coverage were available. Through the internet, I was directed to Belair Direct. After completing their online application and being given a home insurance quotation, I was directed to one of their agents who fine-tuned the quotation. This was to the point where the quotation was increased by $600. When questioned why a 50% increase, it was explained to me that the online quotation is purely designed to drive market traffic to their sales agent who would then increase the price to a much higher point. This deceptive method is certainly a form of 'bait and switch' which appears to follow many of the comments and reviews of BD unsatisfied clients.
