Terrible - avoid!

by 73 Busman on Aug 3, 2022

I had a small claim due to storm damage. The first advisor told us to proceed which repairs, which we did.
We were then given a second advisor who had the damage assessed at the same $$ our deductible and asked for invoices for the work complete.
A third advisor then just tried to close things out with their estimate vs actual invoices.
Confusing and frustrating, time for a switch

In this recent hail storm, all of my neighbour's insurance companies paying them to replace the roof and siding and this cheap company telling me to repair it instead of replacing, and when I tried to talk to them my adjuster stop picking up my phone calls and no reply for the emails. Do not blame your luck after getting this cheap insurance company. Stay away from them.

TD INSURANCE CLAIM is worst experience, never ever recommend to someone. Recently with Calgary hail tried to make claim, waited for 3 hrs and 26 mins and after that got someone on call, raised the claim number with the promise that i will receive call back within 24 to 48 hrs but no response till now after 72 hours. Trying to log in through online all in vain, called their call center they simply say we are helping TD BANK ACCOUNTS and this one is 3rd part vendor so you have to talk to them directly. It seems like a big scam of this big bank by making fool of people by believing you are dealing with TD but in actual they are just enjoying their part of income from 3rd party vendor and don't bother about their clients at all. WORST EVER EXPERIENCE WITH THEM, I WISH I COULD HAVE GIVEN THEM 0 STARS :(

Worst experience ever!

After a storm last summer caused extensive hail damage to our entire house, we filed a claim with TD. The agent was initially pleasant and assured us things would go smoothly. As soon as we decided to go with our own contractor, she swapped with another agent. This one ignore our communications, had zero manners and compassion, and lacked any intelligence. TD kept giving the run around so as to avoid paying what was owed. Despite the massive damage, TD refused to replace all of the sidings. Our home was over thirty years old and their own adjustor told us in person he doubted we would find the exact match in color for siding that old and faded. Our home was the worst on the street in terms of damage, but neighbors with other insurance companies had all of their siding replaced within weeks/months. A year and a half and seven agents later, we continue to get no resolution. The siding they agreed to replace has been complete for seven and a half months. TD is supposed to do a six-month assessment to determine if it matches. Our contractor told us the color doesn't match exactly, and the trim and wrap are different because it isn't produced anymore. He said our home has declined in value and that should be reason enough for TD to replace the remaining siding. But TD refuses to respond. We just got another agent who doesn't bother updating us. They're just trying to hold off so two years will pass and they'll simply close the claim. Every other neighbor who has TD has had the same issue. Do NOT recommend it to anyone. Nightmare experience!! Should've listened to people warning us not to go with TD. They do not value their clients in the slightest.

Worst Customer Support, Didn't reply to any of my emails for claims in my backyard

We have twice major hail damaged in Calgary. Once in 2015 and 2nd was in 2020.
TD Bank never covered my backyard stuff and even don't bother to reply to any of my emails. They are only busy promoting a different good cause they like helping poor children with food and water (and so many cause they don't do or promote) and not helping any other communities at all.

Very poor service and one of the most greedy banks in Canada that don't care for the customer at all

Worst experience

We had hail damage on the roof and sliding at beginning of July 2021 in Calgary. It cost me 4 months for the process and nothing for repairing started yet and might have to wait for it till next year. How bad management for their vendors in TD! Never has this worst experience in my life. I will not be with TD Insurance forever! If I can, I want to give TD insurance 0 stars...

We had a claim and we were not being treated fairly thus gave up. Every point raised they said the policy did not cover. It took 10 days to get a copy of the policy to show we were covered for roof water damage. Then we were told to submit a second claim for an additional deductible, we requested a second adjuster and were told there was not an acceptable adjuster in our area. This was for hail damage and they would only consider patches rather than replacement. Our neighbours, who have a different insurance company, are having repairs completed. Found the staff to be junior in status and not willing to provide a service for which we thought we were paying for. This was the first and only claim with TD Insurance over some ten years.
