Money gougers

I have been a customer with Johnston Insurance for over 30 years and had no issues until I had a claim with the house. I had recently broken my back and have had 2 surgeries and a lack of funding to get someone in to quote me on the job that needed to be done. I called and asked them for an extension to get the repairs done due to the fact of it being winter time as well as I was waiting for my disability to come. They told me that if I never had the repairs done by May, when my policy was up for renewal, they would be cancelling my insurance. They are unsympathetic to your situation as long as they are getting your money and you make no claim, you should be fine. They don’t care about keeping you even though you have been a loyal customer. Worse company for anyone to deal with. You can’t even talk to management team as you have to deal with third party as you’re put on hold until she relays message to management team. Just unbelievable what insurance companies can get away with. Best thing is to have government regulate them better.
Had a leak in my basement and waited 6.5 hours for an adjuster to call me back. I have been with this company for 20 years and never called them for anything. Done with Johnson, worst customer service ever. Never again.
I had an experience with Johnson Insurance and papers all drawn up and was leaving a company over price to save some money, so I emailed the very nice lady that wrote up the policy that we signed and they were getting ready to take payments from, then because I asked a simple honest question today received an email telling me to stay with my current company and that Johnson insurance will cancel everything . It blew me away not expecting to be treated like that so then they offered to fix it which woke me up if this is what I am dealing with now what would it be like if I had a claim so I canceled because sometimes it’s about security not price it’s better to pay a bit more to the company you know and ask them for the discount when you get a renewal. Johnson saved me a future heartache and I would never recommend this company to anyone
Since august 29th a flood caused severe damage in our basement causing mold, destruction of the walls doors tiles and dry wall. Contacted the johnson insurance over a million times. No results, no money, nothing. Today is November 7th, and still nothing has been done. This is fraud! basement is ruined and insurance wont help. Been paying them for 6 years and at a time of crisis i received nothing from them!
My home insurance has more than doubled in just 4 years! It's time to shop around for a better insurance company.
since I have not had very few claims with this company, there is little that I can say. they have veen good about keeping me informed about changes in coverage and any information I may call about. The only disadvantage is that there is not localagent to work with. I am in Saskatchewan and teir office is in Alberta. But the good price is well worth it.
Compared with other insurers, this company provides the same coverage at much less cost
Car and house insured for less than previous car only insurance and I get air miles too. Accident claim was quick and better than expected.
I like Johnson since I get airmiles and they gave me a better rate than my previous insurer when I got a new car almost 3 years ago. The girl I talk to was easy to work with.

I had my home insured by Johnson for the last 7 years, with no claims. When I signed up, the rate was reasonable but had been increasing every year since. My rate now is 150% what it was upon signing up. So I finally catch on and switch to a competitor ( for roughly the same price I paid 7 years ago) and they say they have to charge me $130 for cancelling in the middle of the contract. What a bunch of bull. Look elsewhere for your insurance, you'll be glad you did.
