My family purchase every 10,000$ cars and houses insurance in Calgary and when you have a claim in hail damage in Jun/2020 they are giving you the hard time. And they don’t want to pay at all. Please, go somewhere else!
This company is a NIGHTMARE! My house was struck by the storm in houston with over 100 mph winds and my whole fence was blown away. I was without power. My son had a 103 temperature and my dad has stage 4 cancer and he needs oxygen support. I was told I would get additional housing expenses and I was connected with a housing company for hotels since it was 95 degrees. Later on they said my father and son could survive in the heat and they won’t pay for my expenses. They charged me $3600 in May 2024 with an $8000 deductible and counted my fence damage at $2400 when the materials cannot even be bought with that!! They offer me $3000 for the wind and hail damage on my roof and say well that’s below your deductible but you have roof damage so pls get it fixed! I guess that was their way of being nice! My neighbor behind me hardly had any damage and his insurance paid her 20 grand the next day! And they upgraded her roof!! Allstate are scam artists and I am going to take them to court!! PLS NEVER EVER sign up with Allstate!!!!

In 2017, my balcony fell to the ground because of heavy snow and bad construction unknown to me. I understand the reasoning behind the refusal to pay. However, unforgivable was the service I received. They said an adjuster was on his way, and when he never showed up after a week and several phone calls, they told me they were very very busy with recent floods, and told me to do the work, take pictures and send to them. I refused to do their work, a few words were exchanged, we were not on good terms, and finally, they sent someone to check the cottage and the adjuster more or less condemned my cottage without seeing the interior. He advised the Allstate to not insure my place, which had just been renovated. The veranda was scheduled for the following year. So Allstate cancelled my insurance which was due to expire and never notified me. I had a hard time to get insurance and when I did, it cost me approx. $700. More per year for a seasonal (6 mo.) Cottage worth less than $100,000. We are NOT in Good hands with Allstate
