I wanted to add a new car on my existing car insurance policy...Now its more than an hour and I'm still on hold.
2 years after a car accident leaving myself and my girlfriend with long time injuries, we're still dealing with TD insurance, fighting for a proper settlement. Especially after being dropped by the company even though we were t-boned, and wasn't our fault. If you ever need to deal with them they hardly any help, and provided awful service. I would recommend going with someone else, even for banking.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Wait times for telephone contact are frequently over an hour long. Some advisers are more knowledgeable than others and usually I get different answers to the same questions when making changes to my policies. I'm not sure that the amount I pay is competitive anymore given the number of items I insure. Claim however was very efficiently handled.
I had an accident a year ago. I was rear-ended. The emergency services recommended that I pull to the side due to safety (which I told my TD adjuster and she said "I hate it when they do that"). I didn't feel safe at the location of the accident since it was a major highway. #1) No sympathy or understanding from the adjuster. Then, it was clear that I was hit from behind, the guy was tailgating and didn't have enough space to avoid me when I had to stop due to the car in front. How am I at fault when I was the one hit? You go and talk to their adjuster. I had to pay 50/50. #2) My adjuster never came to look at my vehicle. The other party's adjuster did, for damage estimation purpose. #3) My adjuster looked for faults in my statement and even yelled back at me. I was frustrated with the situation and obviously it was voiced through my tone. You'd think she would be professional about it. #4) I find out from the other party's adjuster that it was to be settled through 50/50, me holding half the fault. I asked if they could access road cameras or dash cams to view the evidence since the other party hit me at a major exit/highway location. Obviously, they said no. #5) The other party is also with TD Insurance, which makes me wonder if the company did not do this just to profit themselves since now I have an at-fault record and will have to stay with them if I don't want to pay double my premium with other companies for at least 5 years.
Waiting to talk to a representative right now. I've been waiting 50 minutes now and I'm still waiting...
The announcement at the beginning of the call said "more than 5 minutes" , that's a huge understatement !!
Reading the comments, I see that I'm not alone in that situation. How can a reputable company tolerate such crappy performance?
I'm a long standing TD banking customer. No complaints there, but the insurance dept. is really something else. Just because of that stupid delay, I will take my insurance business somewhere else...
Way to go TD insurance !!
Over 2hrs on hold and still waiting that's soooo bad, for me I would give them no star overall rating ......
I had two house insurances and one auto insurance. It had taken me over 30 minutes every single time I've called to reach an agent. When I called this time, it took me 50 minutes. This year, I sold one of my properties. They could not adjust retroactively to the date of the transaction. I couldn't wait over 30 minutes every single time I called before, so this was just the last step for me. By the way, I had called the date of the transaction, a couple of days later, and the week after. The audacity that this company has to make us think that our time is not valuable is unacceptable.
If that wasn't enough, they increased my auto insurance by 18%, regardless of the fact that I didn't have any accidents or tickets over the year and my car is a year older.
Over the last couple of years, they've take every chance they get to increase their premiums and decrease services to their customers. I've gotten cold calls out of the blue and they've just increased the premium regardless of the fact that there was an agreed upon premium months ago. I'm sure they operate in an illegal manner with this policy.
Cancelled everything with them and going with another insurer.
I hate to say this but TD service and employees sucks. I got involved in a car accident few weeks ago. Even though it wasn't my fault they failed to provide service. (forget about good) my adjuster was from NB and she is the worst person I have ever deal with. No contact for two weeks. I called daily to get my papers and they simply ignored me. Finally get papers that my vehicle deemed a total loss after almost a month, they only giving me 40 % of my car price. Got an accident and screwed by TD. Now I am financially and mentally damaged. After paying 60 months of payment I got this disappointment. Cancelling both my auto and home insurance and also insurance of my family.
Terrible customer service and support. They don't inform you of their policies. I had to call them three times to tell them they had my address incorrectly recorded.
I had a horrible experience with TD insurance when you leave you really never ever want to go back. They do not have the best rates. TD insurance does not do a good job in customer service because they do not explain completely everything before a new task or changing something within your account. This is why I don't find TD insurance a good company to be taking my money towards their products.
