Charges after cancelling insurance

1 out of 5 stars
They tried to up my auto policy by $30 I have no tickets or violations and when I contacted them to ask how much my home insurance would be if I cancelled my auto insurance and they couldn’t tell me that unless I actually did. They also couldn’t tell me how much of a discount I was currently getting since apparently, it’s only “up to” 20% if you bundle. Not sure what kind of company cannot see your policy details but this company sucks what’s the point of having customer service agents if they know next to nothing! Pointless...
Be careful with this company. If I could give a zero star I would. My credit card was not working so on the payment due date I called in a made the payment the same day first thing in the morning over the phone. They then put through cancellation for non-payment even though payment was made. In their position letter, as I will be putting in a complaint to the ombudsman, they refused to indicate that my payment was made the same day(which is fine I have bank records to prove it). Stay away
Don't use these guys they have no customer service and don't take payments out on the right dates and will even try to take payments early or try to charge you a double payment for them trying to take money out on the wrong dates and very hard to get a hold of anyone to resolve your issues and didn't even take my cancelation payment and sent me to collections. Don't ever use them nothing but problems they "only deal with emails" but when need to notify you they send you a registered letter that comes in too late to they can charge you more these guys are a joke!
Bought a policy.
Picked up a brand-new truck.
A day later, the transmission went out.
Returned to the dealer and ordered a new truck.
Called Sonnet to notify them - they added all kinda fees.
Charged $635 for 3 days...
One of the most unethical and unprofessional companies I’ve come across. In the name of a cancellation fee, they’re deducting 2 months' premium from my account. All the customer service representatives have come up with different stories and no resolution. Fraud organization. Not going to talk forget recommending someone about the Sonnet.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I recently added a home policy to my car. Weirdly, the billing got messed up and instead of the total coming out together, the amounts were deducted separately from 2 different accounts.
One is the regular account where the payments are supposed to come and the other is the credit I used to pay the down payment.
Sonnet wouldn't take payment online or over the phone to fix the issue. Instead, they advised me maybe I should shop for another provider.
So I am. And you know what? I got a better rate.
I had a chip on my windshield which when I went to get it fixed cracked. Put in the claim to Sonnet and they rejected it. If a meteor or a planet fell out of the sky it would have been covered. I've paid this company over $1,000 every year over the past 10-plus years for this awful claim-free coverage. I also have their home insurance coverage which I have not submitted a claim against either. I will be shopping for a new provider.
I have fought with Sonnet for a year over my quote and finally got it sorted. Now I tried to get insurance for my wife and again THEY tried to charge more than double the quote!!! VERY SHADY COMPANY!
After making a claim in June, it was ignored. I emailed multiple times asking for updates and asking what took so long, but they never replied. I sold my car in August and attempted to cancel insurance on August 8th. An adjuster was sent out to look at my car on the 15th! I told them I canceled and I wasn’t happy with paying $500 a month and having a claim ignored. They took my money again on August 24th even though I canceled! Impossible to talk to a human and their phone system is designed to make you hang up. If you do get an adjuster, they hang up on you! The company doesn’t provide services you pay too much money for!!!

Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I canceled my insurance policy over the phone with a representative two months before the renewal date. I then had to speak to another representative to cancel it. I also emailed the company twice to confirm the cancellation. Just received notice that they have sent my file to collections. For fees after cancellation. Unbelievable.
