What Customer Service?

I called Allstate twice and was sent in circles. I was told to email. That got no response. What they don't tell you when you get your renewal letter is... Even if you cancel in writing before the renewal date, they will still take your money and you have to wait at least two weeks to get it back! My insurance was renewed in September, got my renewal in the mail less than a month before my renewal date. I canceled right away and was told it didn't matter the payment was scheduled two months before my renewal date in July...

BEWARE!!!

by Maria Cheng on Aug 31, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Beware it’s a nightmare dealing with them!
Called in on April to get a quote consolidated with my partner. Without the account holder's approval (my husband) they added me to the account for the renewal. I am currently insured with another company.
To clean up THEIR mess, I was asked to provide my insurance slips which I did and then they asked me for my entire policy! Why do they need my personal information to clean up their mess?
It’s SO easy to add a person to their account but NOT SO easy to remove a person.
Numerous calls to the calls center and they escalated the issue and the agent even mentioned they will have the manager contact me within 72 hours. This was on September 25, 22. So, 4 days passed, and no phone calls.
Today, I called in to check on the status. They were supposed to remove me from the policy not only that they CANCELLED the entire policy!
A horrible experience with Allstate.

Getting a Quote

by TUG fan on Aug 10, 2022

The 1st time I called to get a quote, the male hung up on me. 2nd time I called back to an office nearby, the lady was aggressive and disrespectful, not a way to treat a potential client. Red flag, I won’t be giving Allstate my money or business. They are not worthy of getting a star.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Slow...

The worst insurance I have ever seen. They don't accept to pay for the part which is damaged after an accident only because that part already has rust. They are slow. They are not available.

Great to get you a rental Vehicle. Horrible to make contact with the client or repair shop!

Unreal the worst service I've seen. I have never been contacted by Adjuster. I've had to do all the work myself. The shop is still waiting for the go-ahead to repair a vehicle. What a waste of time! I would fire the Management team of this Corporation! Unreal.

I filed a claim in June, almost August now...

Still, no one has contacted me. I called, emailed 5 times, and reached out to my agent, but even the agent cannot get a reply from an adjuster. Horrible company.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

No rental provided

by Therese Alexander on Jul 24, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I had a car accident on April 11, 2022 and Allstate determined that I am at zero fault and gave me a rental to use until my vehicle is repaired.
On July 11, they decided to stop the rental and leave me with no vehicle claiming that they are not responsible for the rental in case there is a part delay from the manufacturer.
Allstate advised me to go after the manufacturer to get the car part that is needed for the repair.
I am now obligated to do the insurance company's job to repair my car and get the parts from the manufacturer. I am also penalized to pay for rentals or Ubers to go to work and run necessary errands!
A part of the email from Cindy, a claim manager is below:

"As Denika has mentioned on July 7, 2022 the last day we will be unable to cover the rental would be July 11, 2022 which is a reasonable period of time to allow for the repairs to be completed however with the part delay with the manufacturer the delay is unforeseeable and Allstate insurance does not guarantee the availability of parts.

I would recommend contacting Volkswagen Customer Service and open a claim with them to provide you with a rental vehicle beyond July 11, 2022."

Customer Service

by Pnewman3 on Jul 12, 2022

My husband drove our pickup out of Province to visit our son and flew home to attend an oncology appointment for me. He told our son to feel free to drive it. On his way home from work our son was involved in a collision during a snow storm. He had pulled off the road and someone lost control and T-boned him. No injuries and he was able to drive it home. I submitted a claim the next day. I made several phone calls and emails to follow up on this. Our son took the truck to a repair shop for an estimate as instructed. It took EIGHT WEEKS for an adjuster to contact our son. He asked him to come to look at the truck when he got home from work and the adjuster laughed at him. He doesn’t work those hours. Needless to say, we pulled the claim and our son bought the used parts and repaired the truck himself for a fraction of the estimate. Goodby Allstate.
