Terrible Customer Service

I transferred my business to Allstate several years ago as there prices were competitive and the customer service, at the time, was great. I just received a letter in the mail telling me that due to a "recent" claim, both my comprehensive and my collision deductibles were being increased to $500, they were down to $300.
When I called to inquire about this "recent" claim, I found out it was for a windshield replacement in early 2015....not sure about anyone else but that is not recent in my books!
Secondly I asked why my policy was even being affected as I have had windshield replacements done in the past with other companies and as long as it's the first replacement, there is no ding to the insurance.
Upon speaking with a representative, after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, she informed me that she could not access my file and that I should speak to my Rep. She then proceeded to ask me whether I knew my rep and when I told her that I had no idea as I had never been contacted by one, she laughed at me and said "You don't know who your rep is?!" in a condescending way.........how unprofessional is that?!
I am now looking for a new insurance company for my upcoming renewal!!!
We all make mistakes, switching to Allstate Insurance has been the worst mistake I have ever made. I have had a small accident, my first accident in over 30 years. I called to report and was given a claim number and told to proceed to get an estimate for repairs, since then I have heard NOTHING..... for over a month.....NOTHING although I call daily. My agent has his phone set to voicemail. I can get nothing from anyone else...he does not return my calls. He has made no attempt to contact me. I even checked to see if he still works there. I don't know where to turn or what to do. This is disgusting to me. Do not attempt to save a few dollars, you are sacrificing your customer service!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I have been with the company since 2010. And I had one claim last year which was not my fault l called 1-800 # at 2 am .they answered my call and next day call me back and send me to my desired garage and all the same day give me rental car . I recommend to try it .
I have been with the company for 20 years. The service was excellent. In the last couple of years the Ottawa offices have been going through agents like weekly. You talk to somebody one day , the next day they will be gone. The managers will return your calls or emails after 5 days (if they do). You do not feel they care when you are talking to them. I am fed up and I am switching. I will try to convince my friends and relatives to switch too.
I have read the reviews now , have i read it earlier i could not been with Allstate. All the -ve reviews are so true nothing is +ve .Now i am going through a claim not @ fault & i am experiencing awful time. The adjuster is playing game & doing the side business. He is very rude no communication after repeatedly sending emails & phone calls no reply. He send an offer @ 50 %.My advice to all to stay away this company . YOU ARE IN VERY BAD HANDS.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I have been with this company for over 30 years, I had a few claims over the years but none were my fault, so all was fine. After 30 years I had my first at fault accident, minor fender bender. My insurance has been increased by 80% can you believe this. Stay away.
Allstate is a terrible company to deal with. So terrible that I do not even want to give them a 1 star rating. The only reason I switched to them was because I was saving money on auto insurance through them. Little did I know what a terrible decision I was making. For all the consumers out there reading this review, please do not base your insurance decisions on how much money you save with an insurance company. It really is the level of service you receive when you enter into a claim. The Claims Adjustor was rude, called me a liar, and was so aggressive to deal with! This is an accident in which we are not at fault, but we are being charged with 50% of the liability because the other party lied in their statement. Allstate so far has not shown us any support. I have not felt for even a second that they are fighting for us and giving us the best possible care. They are in this business only to make money. The insurance agent that I signed through has been highly unprofessional, and will not return our calls. All in all a terrible experience. Please do not go with Allstate Insurance. You will regret it later if you do.
I moved to a new postal code and my car insurance doubled, which is obscene. They claim i moved to a higher accident area. One should pay on their driving record and not where they live.
If you live in a certain high area you will pay that additional premium for life. it will NEVER change. It is just a ripoff to pick your pocket.
Worst insurance company ever, they will look for any excuse to cancel claim , i would hate to see anyone go through what i went through , i ended up fixing my car myself

After being with a different insurance company for years, we decided to move our auto and home insurance to AllState as they had very competitive prices. After we switched the trouble began. It took weeks to receive our policy and pink slips for the cars in the mail, and because I was travelling I needed that slip so I had to travel out of my way to the AllState office to pick up the slip. A few months later a questionnaire was sent to us and at that time we decided to add my partner (who has his own car insurnace with another company) as an occassional driver as he sometimes drives my car. We provided the requested information (name and driver's licence number) and sent the form back via mail. Fast forward to now (approx. 90 days later) and it is time for our 6 month renewal. 10 days before the policy was due to expire we still have not received our renewal documents. We called to request them be sent and our representative no longer works for the company, and our policy it seems had just been forgotten about. At this time we requested to know what the cost would be and for our renewal documents to be sent immediately. Our cost increased nearly $300 from the last time we paid! All they stated was "regular cost increase." We also wanted to ensure that my boyfriend had been added on and the lady we spoke to said that would be processed right away. Several days later we received an email from the same lady requesting my boyfriend's insurance company and policy number. This information had never been requested from us before and should not have an effect on him being added as an occassional driver. We have called the office several times and left messages for this lady to call us back and we have heard nothing. It is now 3 days before our policy expires and we have switched to another provider. The customer service (or lack there of) is absolutely ridiculous. We have been given the run around for the entire 6 months we have been with AllState. I work in customer service and if myself or my staff treated customers paying the company money this poory you can be sure that we would no longer be employed with the company. I will be warning my friends, family and anyone I come in contact with to never deal with AllState and if I could have rated them a 0 I certainly would have.
