Allstate Insurance terrible

by Mumto2 on Oct 21, 2015
1 out of 5 stars

Allstate is a terrible company to deal with. So terrible that I do not even want to give them a 1 star rating. The only reason I switched to them was because I was saving money on auto insurance through them. Little did I know what a terrible decision I was making. For all the consumers out there reading this review, please do not base your insurance decisions on how much money you save with an insurance company. It really is the level of service you receive when you enter into a claim. The Claims Adjustor was rude, called me a liar, and was so aggressive to deal with! This is an accident in which we are not at fault, but we are being charged with 50% of the liability because the other party lied in their statement. Allstate so far has not shown us any support. I have not felt for even a second that they are fighting for us and giving us the best possible care. They are in this business only to make money. The insurance agent that I signed through has been highly unprofessional, and will not return our calls. All in all a terrible experience. Please do not go with Allstate Insurance. You will regret it later if you do.

changing postal codes

by pj on Oct 19, 2015
1 out of 5 stars

I moved to a new postal code and my car insurance doubled, which is obscene. They claim i moved to a higher accident area. One should pay on their driving record and not where they live.
If you live in a certain high area you will pay that additional premium for life. it will NEVER change. It is just a ripoff to pick your pocket.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Awful

by importantkeurig@gmail.com on Apr 10, 2015

The customer service is awful - even though I was not found at fault, they still communicated to the other insurance agency that I was difficult to work with and there are notes on this.

Claims adjuster in Calgary should have a review of her work because it's less than exemplary - I was never properly informed on anything and had to find out EVERYTHING from the OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY who proceeded to tell me that my agent told them that I was difficult to work with.

If I'm difficult, fine, but this is ridiculous. You can make a statement about me that's negative if you performed your job adequately. I had no information to go by and had to fumble my way through the process which of course would be frustrating for another agent, I get that, but Allstate has been horrible with their service so I have zero foundation for what I was getting into.

I had my first accident on nov 17/2014 and they finally came back to me with an offer on Jan 15/2015, They took the car back and now I have no vehicle and no payout (jan 22). As soon as this is settled, I will be looking for another instance company.

Allstate Worse Company

by 914mo on Jan 26, 2015

I Was a costumer with Allstate with a car insurance since 2008 never have tickets I always paid them on time, Until Last year on august I hit someone on their fender a small little scratch and no one got hurt so I call allstate they keep saying you don't have to paid anything don't worry but they never told me that my next renewal was gonna double the Insurace premium for the accident, so from paying $99 they increased the price to $216.00 which is ridiculous because I never had an accident before or tickets, and when I called them they couldn't even have a legitimate reason why they increased the payment so much so I decided to call an cancel. I talk to first representative she said ok I cancel and I call back 10 minutes later and they said my account was still active so I don't trush them and is the worst Insurance ever.

Parking Lot Incident

by LeighW on Dec 4, 2014
1.5 out of 5 stars

My wife, 2 kids and I just parked in a parking spot at a Canadian Tire with my truck. I was the first to open the door (which I was in the passenger side) to get out. When I opened the door, I was starting to get out when someone who was trying to take a short cut through the parking spaces hit my door, which thank god basically saved my life. Driver was trying to drive through. Ok so we no in no way was hugging parking spot next to me so he was way too close and driving way too fast. This was on a weekend so I call 24hour number and talk to a lady on the phone and give all the details and she ensures me that I was not at fault. Fast forward a few days later and I talk to another lady who informs me that I was at fault! Seriously? I'm in my parking spot stopped and getting out, someone hits my door and it's my fault!
I said what happens if he had actually hit me? Well that's different I guess then it would be his fault. Hello the door is what saved me from that happening. Needless to say I'll be appealing their decision. Guess I'll have to start being like the Dukes of Hazards and climb in and out of the window.

Terrible

by rmichaels on Oct 30, 2014
1 out of 5 stars

I had td insurance and they where great they covered everything. I switched with them because they rose my insurance so I went with all state cause they were charging less and my family said that they were good.
I was in a accident that was not my fault and I was injured. They never called me to tell me that I have a deductible I was never told any information. When I called the customer line they were no help and just gave me more numbers to call. So far this experience with this company is pathetic. I will not receded them to anyone. Never had so much problems with an insurance company. As well they kept taking more money out of my account each month when I talked to them they said my insurance had rose.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Not a valued customer

by Kimberly on Sep 23, 2014
1.5 out of 5 stars

My policy must have been moved to at least 5 different allstate brokers in 4 years. Obviously I am not a valued customer. They shuffled me about not even notify me 2 of the times. I found out when I got my invoice which was sent out to me twice a year because it would let me know that my monthly payment was changing again. They constantly changed the monthly payment with one month notice to me. The last straw was an increase in my policy from $114 to $162. I have been driving over 25 years and have never made a claim.
